The Sump Filter is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is responsible for trapping food particles and debris from the water during the wash cycle, preventing them from recirculating and ensuring clean water is used throughout the cycle.
You should replace this sump filter if it becomes clogged, damaged, or excessively dirty. Causes of a bad sump filter can include the accumulation of food particles, grease buildup, or wear and tear over time. A compromised filter can lead to reduced cleaning performance and potential damage to other dishwasher components.
Symptoms of a bad Sump Filter include:
- Poor cleaning results, with food particles left on dishes
- Slow or incomplete draining
- Unpleasant odors from the dishwasher
- Error codes related to water flow or drainage issues
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
