Outer basket had a lot of rust on the lip at the top of the basket, I ordered tub gasket, but when I removed the old gasket, some of the lip broke off, leaving gaps at the top, went to the hardware store, and purchased thin sheet of 8x10" aluminum, cut and shaped pieces from this sheet, to fit under the damaged lip, to bridge the gaps, rounded edges to fit against the rounded part of the outer tub, under the lip, once shaped, I glued them in place with emblem adhesive, did this all the way... The noise turned out to be the bottom bearing between the belt pulley and the transmission. Once apart an easy replacement. Followed youtube instruction video found independently with searching how to fix the problem. Took the top off of the washer. Took off the face of the washer, removed top and bottom exposed balancing weights. Removed old bellow door boot. Did all steps back in reverse. Had a very hard time getting the bellow reattached to the washer as the video was very non-specific of which grove actually attached back onto the water. Read more
