Whirlpool Dishwasher Dishrack Roller Assembly
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10078083

This is a wheel and bracket assembly that mounts to the bottom of a dishwasher dishrack, allowing it to slide in and out smoothly on the track. The roller supports the weight of the loaded rack and reduces friction during movement. Replace this assembly if the dishrack is difficult to slide, sits unevenly, or if the roller is cracked, worn, or no longer spins freely.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Upper rack wheel broken   John M. • Hopatcong , NJ • April 25, 2014

Ordered new wheel assembly, which came in about a day and a half. The broken assembly was on the left front so I only had to slide the dishwasher out just enough to expose the two mounting screws on the outside of machine. When you remove the old assm there are two rubber washers on the back side. If you didn't order new ones, remember to remove them from broken assembly and install them onto the new piece.Overall this is an easy fix and took about ten minutes including pulling the machine away... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The sink adapter was squirting water everywhere   Devin F. • Saint Joseph , MO • December 19, 2015

Tipped the dishwasher on to its front, loosened the drain hose clamp and pulled the hose off. Then unscrew the fill hose which looks like a garden hose adapter. Cut the zip tie on the drain hose and take note of how both hoses are routed, then pull both hoses out the back of the dishwasher. Insert new hoses and route them correctly and hook everything back up. Couple of notes, I didn't have to take off the outer cabinet to do this repair. Get plenty of towels because a lot of water can get... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishes would't clean on the top rack and bottom dishes were wet   Rajasekhar R. • Warrenton , VA • August 02, 2015

I replaced the rear tube that feeds water to the top and middle spinners, and this appears to have fixed the problem. The middle spinner, which is attached to the bottom of the top rack, has a tube that connects to a hole in the middle of the rear tube. This hole has a rubber flap and I noticed that this flap was wide open. The tube under the tray has a straight edge protruding from it at the back. This edge pushes the flap open and I suspect that when the water is flowing, this edge rotates... Read more

Removed torx screws attaching stainless liner to outer stainless door. Lift off inner door and carefully separate the electronic components from where they snap into the control panel. Relocate electronic components to the new control panel. Reattach the inner liner with the torx screws. It is helpful to have an extra set of hands to hold the control panel while making the electronics swap to avoid pulling on the wiring harness. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Door kept un latching during wash cycle   Rolland W. • Hilton Head , SC • March 04, 2015

Tried bending the strike to get a firmer grip, but no luck. Replaced the door latch and strike. Washer is about ten years old. You can feel the new catch has a more positive engagement. When you replace the strike, be sure not to tilt it downward in front. It will go in the way but it will keep the door from closing. Not sure I needed to replace the strike but didn't want to risk more downtime. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Machine running loud grew worse until it was obvious the motor blew a bearing   Robert S. • Bettendorf , IA • February 21, 2015

We initially noticed the dishwasher running loud and failing to completely clean dishes. Research suggested issues like this were normally caused by either the main circulation motor or the drain motor. Over the next week the noise worsened, and it became obvious that the circulation motor had went (loud whirring noise whenever the spin cycle kicked in). I watched a couple youtube videos on the removal and dissassembly until I felt confident that my wife and I could handle the project. For the... Read more

Whirlpool Diverter Motor
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10155344

The Diverter Motor is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It controls the movement of the diverter disc, which directs water flow to different spray arms during the wash cycle. This ensures that all areas of the dishwasher receive adequate water pressure for effective cleaning.

Symptoms of a bad diverter motor include:

  • Dishes not being cleaned properly
  • Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher during operation
  • The dishwasher not advancing through cycles correctly
  • Water not reaching all areas of the dishwasher

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Note: Includes wire harness WPW10083167, Drain cap part number WPW10193605, and the shaft seal has been incorporated into sump housing, not available separately.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher   Chuck H. • Rochester Hills , MI • October 17, 2015

Removed and replaced diverter motor. Ops check good, no more leaking. I'm guessing the seal was the problem but diverter ruined (water residue) from leaking over the last 5 years??? This seal is only available if you buy the tub so followed another review - removed diverter then gently pried out the seal, cleaned and then lubed with silicone grease. Also turned the seal 180 degrees or the opposite way before reinstalling the diverter and then wrapping it all back under the counter. Read more

Dishwasher washer would not drain after hearing glass-like particles during the drain cycle despite trying to clean the cylinder filter. Originally suspected the drain motor was damaged. After watching a video on how to replace the drain pump, I carefully energized the dishwasher (from water and electricity) then removed the dishwasher to take a look. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My dishwasher detergent dispensor door was not opening during wash cycle and the control panel was loose because the plastic mounts for the screws were broken   Reed W. • Eldon , MO • November 11, 2014

I ordered a new detergent dispenser and control assembly, watched a few videos on you tube and dived in. The repairs were pretty simple once I got started and while I was doing this I went the extra step and cleaned out the drain. I would suggest doing this annually. Pretty simple to do and only 5 screws to get to the drain and the grinder. I found plastic and several other things that would not allow the dishwasher to drain properly and probably part of the problem of dishes not getting... Read more
