Whirlpool Turbidity Sensor
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10705575

The Turbidity Sensor is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It detects the level of particles in the water during the wash cycle, allowing the dishwasher to adjust the cycle duration and water usage for optimal cleaning performance. This sensor ensures that dishes are thoroughly cleaned by monitoring water clarity.

Symptoms of a bad turbidity sensor include:

  • Dishes not being cleaned properly
  • Dishwasher running longer than usual or shorter cycles
  • Error codes related to the sensor
  • Inconsistent wash performance

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You F7 e1 error code water not getting hot.   David F. • Austin , TX • September 14, 2021

My wife said we have a problem with our dishwasher (Whirlpool WDT920SADE2). The dishes were not getting clean, and the soap dispenser opened, but soap was still dribbled down the inside of the door and on the silverware caddy. I'm not the handiest guy; it took me several days to go through the trouble-shooting process, watching multiple videos and trying different things. My initial guess was that the soap dispenser was opening too late. (This turned out to be wrong.) I started off by... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You In door ice dispenser wasn't working as plastic gear box was cracked & fridge was just over 1 year old   Edward H. • Brunswick , GA • April 01, 2015

You'll need a screwdriver with one of those small square heads and a small socket wrench. Remove ice bin. Unscrew 2 screws on casing surrounding the ice box in order to lift it up and out. Remove 4 screws from plastic piece beneath the ice box that the coupling is mounted to and is part of the ice chute. No need to remove coupling as you can lift this piece out (carefully) with it in tact. If you haven't already, unplug the fridge or turn off the breaker. [I didn't do this sooner because I... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You It was dancing around the floor when it went into the spin cycle   Harry W. • Landisburg , PA • January 19, 2020

First went through the troubleshooting guide on the website and read the various stories and watched the repair videos for replacing the springs and suspension pads. Then before ordering any parts disassembled the machine only to the point of removing the cabinet to see if there were any obvious issues. The springs appeared OK but I couldn't tell of they were fatigued or not and all were in place but the tub suspension pads were definitely worn out. I then put the machine back together and went... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Unknown location of refrigerator leaking   Keyliasha S. • Clinton , MD • February 07, 2016

Appliance parts pro DIY video clips extremely useful. I recently purchased this home and like DIY projects if the repair isn't too difficult. In the end I save on costly labor fees and it's more rewarding to fix it myself. I have an ice and washer dispenser on the outside of my refrigerator and wanted to use it. When I first looked at the home there was a sign posted next to the refrigerator "Do not turn on water valve, leak under the refrigerator". It was an "as is" property. My agent... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher stopped draining water the pump was running (i could hear the noise) but water would not go away   Evgueni P. • San Mateo , CA • February 08, 2015

I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. Upon disconnecting the drain and checking its connector I indeed found the round piece totally blocking the hose and acting as a seal. I removed the piece... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You In door ice maker inop   John L. • Holly Hill , FL • September 22, 2020

Replaced both inlet valves, no joy. Upon further inspection, found ice maker harness extremely tight at lower freezer door hinge, clamped in place right at a pivot point. Essentially the harness is held in place and rotates with the door. 6 wires broken inside. Splice repair and ice maker now works. Most likely will have to replace harness eventually.
