Background: Roper Electric Dryer model REX6634RQ0 purchased new in early 2006 by my wife. Dryer use profile is low to moderate as it was used by only one person (working from home) from 2006 to late 2007 then moved and stored in a dry basement until mid 2009. Moved and used by primarily just two people (plus occasional children visits) from mid-2009 thru late 2011 with three moves involved with in that time. Checked thermal fuse, belt pulley switch, door switch, and motor windings (primary 2.3 ohms start 2,2 ohms). Called Appliance Pros, told them my problem. They said that it appears to be the motor even though the ohm readings seam Ok and that I could return the motor if it was not the problem. I ordred the motor and blower wheel. Installed the new motor and everything worked! The only difficult part was that the motor blower had to be chiseled out. Their motor repair video was a great help. Read more

Popped off cap on middle of plate inside machine with flathead screwdriver, used a ratchet wrench and socket on bolt, took off plate. Replacement OEM plate was about $88. Got to house in 3 days. Less than an hour total time. Machine was 1 1/2 years old. It had stopped spinning, making noise. Read more

Replaced the water line and water supply solenoid valve (slight weeping at valve body also). This is a 3 year old whirlpool refrigerator, model WRX988SIBM00. A crack in the water line after only 3 years is a poor design. My intent was to replace the entire water line from the valve to the filter. I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. Upon disconnecting the drain and checking its connector I indeed found the round piece totally blocking the hose and acting as a seal. I removed the piece... Read more

Purchased, Igniter Kit, Gas Valve Coil Kit, and as a precaution Thermal Fuse and Cutoff-Tml. Was pretty confident the problem was the gas valve coil, but figured that why not just replace the other items while I had the unit apart. The timer knob simply pulls off the shaft with a solid, steady pull. Cleaned the timer cavity of lint/dust buildup. Aligned the keying flat of the shaft and knob and pushed the new knob on with careful, steady pressure until it was obviously seated. No tools required other than a vacuum. The door switch would sometimes not shut the dryer off when the door was opened. New switch came with new fast-on connectors. Removed trays. Trap broken tracks back to notch in order up lock and remove them. in stalled new replacement tracks but first sand down flat the two circular taps that were no allowing the tracks two get flush with the wall surface. Clean wall surface of any build up spills. rub on a light coat of liquid soap which will help you slide the track in and seats. Read more
