This is a zone control cable replacement made with a thick plastic outer sleeve that covers a high-quality metal cable. When a lawnmower’s engine refuses to stop even after letting go of the handle, its zone control cable may need replacement. A malfunctioning zone control cable prevents proper engine shutdown upon releasing the handle. This can cause unwanted continuous lawnmower operation. To install a brand-new zone control cable, make sure that the engine is cool first. Use work gloves for protection. Remove the spark plug wire connection to prevent the engine from accidentally starting. Then, disconnect the old control cable’s z end from the bail control bar or arm. If there are any cable ties at the handle assembly, clip those. To release the broken cable from the stop lever, use a long nose plier and press the tabs down. Then, remove the other z-end from the bracket. Get the replacement cable and insert the one end to the handle assembly. Grab the other end and attach it to the motor bracket. Make sure to snap it in place. The remaining z end should then be placed in the bail arm. You can use zip ties to secure the cable to the handle. Then, reattach the spark plug wire. If yours is broken, you can replace it with this Husqvarna 532183281 Zone Control Cable Replacement. It is a brand-new genuine OEM zone control cable sourced directly from the manufacturer. This is a genuine replacement OEM throttle control cable. The throttle control cable is comprised of an internal wire that slides through the external housing. Force is transferred from the accelerator pedal to the control linkage mounted to the throttle body from this sliding movement. If constant speed is not being maintained from the cruise control or delays starting, stopping, or jerking, then it may be time to replace the throttle control. To replace the throttle control a pair of pliers is needed. Remove the cable housing using pliers. The housings will swivel off the base and slide down the cable. Next, thread the cable wire through the housing. Locate the wire base on the back of the engine and run the cable through the throttle base and throttle arm. With the throttle all the way down, slide the cable through the housing and into the handle unit to attach it to the throttle handle. Pull the cable with a pair of pliers to make it tight and turn the lock screw. Replace the throttle to test the tension. If the mower, edger, or trimmer is running too high then loosen the cable. This throttle control works with lawn mowers, edgers, and trimmers. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer and sold individually.
This OEM part is a depth cable for lawnmowers. Also known as a stop cable, the depth cable is the cord that stops the blades from running when the mower is in an idle position. If the lever has been released and the blades are still rotating, this might mean that the depth cable is no longer functioning and needs to be replaced. Luckily replacing the depth cable is a relatively simple fix. To replace the depth cable, begin by removing the bracket that holds the cable to the handle by using a screwdriver to pry it off. On the lower part of the handle, there is a clip that secures the cable. Remove the clip and disconnect the end of the cable near the kill handle. Locate the brackets connected to the engine. Remove the plastic tabs securing the cable housing with a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull the housing away from the bracket. Set the old cable aside and reinstall the new cable in reverse order. This genuine replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with MTD brand lawnmowers.
