Captures lint and debris during drying cycles. Replace when the seal becomes compressed or frame cracks to maintain efficiency and prevent vent clogs.
We had a problem of lint building up inside of the filter slot. Once I took a long brush and cleaned the recess where the filter slides I was able to see that the old filter was not catching all the lint. Upon closer examination I noticed that the seal around the filter had become compressed. that's when I order another filter from AppliancePartsPros.com. My new filter came within three days and my dryer has been working fine ever since then. Read more
Maintains tension on your dryer's drum belt for smooth rotation. Replace if pulley wheel is cracked, shaft worn, or assembly moves excessively during operation.
Was going to order 4 new wheel & spindle sets, then saw you could get just the wheel for 1/3 the cost, so I ordered those. Then in the frequently ordered other items I saw the idler wheel assy. So I ordered one of those also. Glad I did, it was in worse shape than any of the wheels which still seemed to spin freely after I got all the hairs and crap off them. Anyways, went by the video step by step. Pretty straightforward. Have a good vacuum handy, I’m surprised that it used to dry at all... Read more

This roller supports and stabilizes the dryer drum as it rotates. Replace if worn, cracked, or causing noise during operation. Installs behind the drum.
I pulled the dryer away from the wall and unplugged it. Then I used a 5/16 nut driver and removed the 2 screws in the bottom front panel and pulled it off. Next I removed the 2 5/16 screws holding the front door panel and pulled it down far enough to disconnect the wires for the light and the wires on the door switch. Then , using a putty knife I popped the springs holding the top and control panel then pulling the top up and resting it against the wall. Now I started my repair by laying on... Read more

Dryer won't advance through cycles or stops mid-cycle? The timer controls cycle duration and progression. Moderate DIY repair with basic tools.
The selector knob and timer quit working on our GE dryer. We noticed the plastic selector knob was cracked inside when we pulled it off. We decided to order a new timer along with the selector knob just in case the new knob didn't solve the problem. We put on the new knob as easy as we pulled it off and the dryer would turn on again, however it was not going off in the selected amount of time it was supposed to. So it turns out we did need the timer part as well. These parts came in the... Read more

Dryer won't heat or shows E64 error? High-limit thermostat cuts power if overheating occurs. Moderate DIY fix with our video guide and instructions.
My appliance repair guy checked out the problem, but the stack washer dryer required the contractor to dismantle the cabinet to allow the repair to occur. So i wanted the parts available for the repair, so we would not have to have the dryer pulled apart in a small space for an extended time i ordered the parts on Friday afternoon and they arrived at my home before noon on Saturday! The contractor and the repairman were able to coordinate the repair on Tuesday morning, and though the... Read more
Dryer won't start or heat? The thermal fuse trips when overheating occurs, often from clogged vents. Easy DIY fix with our video guide.
The heating element had a break in the heater coils, so I replaced it with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I also replaced the thermal fusible link and thermostat switch because they were so cheap it just made sense to go ahead and do it while I was in there. I also cleaned every nook & cranny in the dryer, then cleaned out the vent piping- which was about 100% clogged. The video's of how to tear down a dryer were indispensable to this repair - along with APP's always having the right... Read more
Dryer making rattling noise or not heating properly? A cracked blower wheel disrupts airflow. Moderate DIY repair—requires panel removal and wrench work.
I wanted to avoid pulling the drum. Luckily, my blower was easily accessed by pulling the front bottom panel. A couple of sheet metal screws were all I needed to remove the fan housing cover. I knew the fan was on reverse threads, i.e. righty-untighty. As it spins it tightens so no need for a retaining nut. I took off a screw holding on the exhaust tube and wiggled it out. I found the broken teeth inside. With the tube out of the way I was able to slide a crescent wrench in back and place... Read more
Connects motor to drum for rotation. Replace if dryer won't start, makes noise, or drum doesn't turn. Confirm fit with your model number before ordering.
My GE dryer from the late 80's/early 90's was squealing when it would start up, belt or bearing I was thinking. I found a manual online that covered my model and I watched a video on this site that showed me how to take it all apart, mine was a bit different but the principles were the same. I took it apart and added some quick-disconnects to 2 wires so next time I can take the front panel off easily. When I got to the bearing it looked worn but not bad so I cleaned it and put it back. ... Read more
Fix a dryer that won't advance cycles or stops mid-cycle with this timer control assembly. Easy DIY repair with simple panel removal in under an hour.
After taking the timer apart to see why it would not turn I found the timer motor was jammed. Taking the motor apart I found a broken gear. Looked up the model number of the dryer and found a new timer assembly thru appliancepartspros.com I ordered, a very easy process, received the part 2 days later. Installed the assembly in about 5minutes and had the dryer back up and running Read more
Plastic grille that covers and secures the lint screen in your dryer. Replace if cracked, broken, or damaged from regular use or impact.
This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

Supports and stabilizes the dryer drum for smooth rotation. Replace if shaft is worn, bearing is damaged, or drum wobbles or sinks at the rear.
I replaced the slide bearings a few years back. A few months later the rear bearing started to go so I replaced that one. Bad idea. Replace these two at the same time. The wobbling from the rear bearing failure caused accelerated wear on the slide bearings. Without the money to fix it I ran it as it was. Another bad idea. The drum not only chewed through the slide bearings, but eventually the assembly as well. I replaced the whole assembly and rear bearing at one time a couple days ago. It was... Read more
Supports the front drum and reduces friction for smooth rotation. Replace if your dryer is noisy, clicking, or leaving marks on clothes. Confirm fit.
Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. I can say AppliancePartsPros is MUCH cheaper for the identical Whirlpool genuine part. While changing the ignitor, I noticed there was an excessive amount of lint in the dryer, which was caused by worn drum seals. I ordered... Read more
