Dryer Parts

I have order three parts, guide filter, cover guide, and sensor assembly. My previous cover guide was from two parts, when sensor assembly was one of them. New part ( guide cover ) was all in one piece so I just transfer old metal part of sensor to new cover guide and I don't need that sensor assembly anymore. I have ordered all three parts overnight by Fedex, ordered 15 min before 5pm, so next day it was here. Dryer is fixed, I'm happy. Read more

The original issue with the dryer is that a corner of the lint screen was sticking out of the lint screen guide, and it would not stay flush with the guide. As a result, many tank top straps, waistband strings, and blankets would get caught on this corner and twist, tear, or warp my clothes. We had a problem of lint building up inside of the filter slot. Once I took a long brush and cleaned the recess where the filter slides I was able to see that the old filter was not catching all the lint. Upon closer examination I noticed that the seal around the filter had become compressed. that's when I order another filter from AppliancePartsPros.com. I pulled the dryer away from the wall and unplugged it. Then I used a 5/16 nut driver and removed the 2 screws in the bottom front panel and pulled it off. Next I removed the 2 5/16 screws holding the front door panel and pulled it down far enough to disconnect the wires for the light and the wires on the door switch. I wanted to avoid pulling the drum. Luckily, my blower was easily accessed by pulling the front bottom panel. A couple of sheet metal screws were all I needed to remove the fan housing cover. I knew the fan was on reverse threads, i.e. righty-untighty. As it spins it tightens so no need for a retaining nut. I took off a screw holding on the exhaust tube and wiggled it out. The heating element had a break in the heater coils, so I replaced it with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I also replaced the thermal fusible link and thermostat switch because they were so cheap it just made sense to go ahead and do it while I was in there. I also cleaned every nook & cranny in the dryer, then cleaned out the vent piping- which was about 100% clogged. I replaced the slide bearings a few years back. A few months later the rear bearing started to go so I replaced that one. Bad idea. Replace these two at the same time. The wobbling from the rear bearing failure caused accelerated wear on the slide bearings. Without the money to fix it I ran it as it was. Another bad idea. This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

After taking the timer apart to see why it would not turn I found the timer motor was jammed. Taking the motor apart I found a broken gear. Looked up the model number of the dryer and found a new timer assembly thru appliancepartspros.com I ordered, a very easy process, received the part 2 days later. • Marks left on clothes

Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open.
