The receptacle that held the burner element in place was broken so the burner would not make a connection and heat up. I ordered the receptacle kit. There was even an online video that showed how to make the repair. It just took a screwdriver and wire cutters and about 15 minutes and the job was done. The burner works great. Read more

It could not have been easier. I simply pulled the old gasket off and pushed the replacement gasket in place until it was secure all around the door. Very easy fix. Read more

Fixed it by replacing the electronic control board. Only 30 min. to fix. (See further down for effort to diagnose the problem.) Most of this "fixing time" was spent removing the control panel to access the control board that is attached to it. My freezer has the control panel located in the top center of the door. Noticed Rolls on the top shelf no longer frozen, though the meat around it still was. Note: This is a good test, keep something that thaws quickly and is not expensive on top shelf, to act as a barometer for your freezer health! I searched for my appliance and the problem. Applianceparts.com was one of the results. There was one fix-it help from a previous customer. I ordered the piece of glass and somehow it arrived at my home the VERY NEXT DAY! I couldn't believe it. So I followed the exact instructions left by the one person that wrote in. Bought a used Frigidaire 36 inch stove. The broiler didn't come on but the burners lit and the stove worked so I made do for about 4 or 5 years with that.
