One day, while trying to roast chicken on the convection roast setting, my Electrolux oven stopped heating properly. I tried the broil setting and the top electric heating element worked fine. I simply moved the refrigerator out of the cubby hole in which it resides, turned off the water supply at the wall, unplugged the electric cord, loosened the water supply line at the valve (had a water absorbent rag and small plastic bowl to catch what drained from the line), place it in the bowl and moved it aside. This was a 2000 model so rather than just replace the defrost timer which was visibly burnt on the terminals, we just did everything. The cold control, defrost timer, thermostat, defrost heater and the compressor capacitor were all replaced. I had the same issue on my older unit and tore it apart replacing one item at a time over a three month period so on an older one i suggest do it all while it is apart. Read more
