Replaced upper and lower thimble's, lever arm, cam closure. Door stop was not the problem, but ordered it and replaced it too. The door of course has to come off, remove the top hinge, and lift it away. Lubricated moving parts with silicone spray. Be sure and put the door back in the open position, so the lever arm and cam closure can properly interact, then close the door. Remove the plastic grate at the bottom to get at the lever arm. I bought two parts. The dispenser housing shield and the funnel ice dispenser. I watched the short video on how to put it back together and I was done in just a matter of minutes. The video was such a big help. I forgot how the spring went on and was able to watch the video and put it back together in just a matter of minutes. If your freezer is warm or you hear howling fan noise, the evaporator fan motor may need replacement. Moderate DIY repair taking 2-3 hours to restore cooling.
Had some confusion of what part I needed, needed the one with the motor and thermostat. Fortunately, I've been fixing wiring for many years, I simply cut the new motor out of the harness, and used that nice glue-inside-heat-shrink tubing to seal the soldered 'Western Union' style splices. New light socket and lamps fit fine, worked fine, new motor is fine, problem resolved. FYI: Look closely at the wiring in you unit, there are two wire harnesses, one feeds the light, the other feeds the motor... Read more

Downloaded the Technical Service Guide and followed the instructions for removal of the Door Closure Mechanism. Items the instructions failed to mention: 1. Although they took the trouble to call for removal of a 3/16" Allen head bolt, they referred to the closure mounting bolts as just "bolts". In fact, they were T-25 bolts. If I didn't have a Torx kit, it would have required a trip to the Orange Big Box Home Center to complete the job. 2. Although the instructions don't describe this step,... Read more
