General Electric Refrigerator Parts

Ge Control Board Assembly
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR55X11033

This authentic OEM part is a control board assembly for refrigerators. The control board assembly is the main circuit board that controls the refrigerator's essential functions, such as adjusting and maintaining temperature. If the refrigerator is no longer cooling and failing to maintain its desired temperature, the control board might need to be replaced. To replace the control board assembly, start by unplugging the refrigerator. After that, proceed to open the freezer door and unscrew the side panel to gain access to the old control board. Once accessed, remove the wire harness and any individual wires attached to the control board assembly. Unfasten the mounting screws holding the assembly in place, and pull the control board out. Set it to the side, and proceed to install the new board. Reattach the wires in their correct terminals, and reinstall the side panel. This genuine replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand refrigerators.

Ge Ptcr (Compressor Start Device)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR07X10099

This PTCR is the compressor's start device for select refrigerators. It helps the compressor start smoothly by momentarily boosting the start winding, then automatically reduces current as the motor reaches speed.

  • Helps protect the compressor by limiting inrush current during startup
What's included: One PTCR start device only Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; allow components to cool
  • Note wire positions and orientation before removal
  • Inspect compressor terminals for heat damage and ensure firm connections
  • If the old device shows signs of overheating, also check the overload and wiring

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Refrigerator not getting cold at all and everything thawing out compressor clicking   Victor F. • West Milford , NJ • June 15, 2015

I researched the problem and determined that the only thing that can cause this was compressor bad or not starting. Since it was cold the day before I felt it had to be the starter parts and ordered them. It was also very important to clean the coil which I believe caused the over heating. Read more

  • Helps prevent compressor motor damage from locked-rotor or overheating conditions
  • Typical failure symptoms: compressor won't start, warm refrigerator/freezer, rhythmic clicking or buzzing near the compressor
  • Physical clues: heat discoloration, cracked housing, or a loose internal rattle
What's included: 1 compressor overload. Install notes:
  • Unplug the refrigerator and allow the compressor area to cool before servicing
  • Remove the rear access panel and the compressor start device cover
  • Note wire locations; pull the old overload straight off the compressor terminal and transfer any wires; reinstall with the existing start relay as designed

I checked the water supply to the solenoid valve and it was okay, but no water was getting passed the valve. I checked the 115 vac signal from the ice maker to the valve and it was present. Unfortunately I did not know to depress the white fitting on the outlet of the valve to release the line to the ice maker so I cut it, and had to purchase a replacement.
