The stove was a 40 year old drop in model so we had to turn off the breaker to the oven before getting started. We removed the baking racks then used a small drill bit to remove the old baking element making sure not to allow the wire to slip back into the back of the stove (very important). Installed the new baking element by slipping the wire connector onto the new element. Replaced the screws, restored power, tested the oven and voila it worked. Easy peasy. Read more

Cut off power ,inside I remove the two back screws, remove the two front screws with hangers. Pull element out, clip wires so they don't fall back in holes with clothes pins. worked good. But wire connection to the broiler was to large, had to replace connectors, wire fell in hole, had to pull wall oven out and remove back panel. I then mounted the new element to oven.
