The 2 sensors that sit on top of the flame tube work together. The Thrmst F should check closed, as should the Cutoff-TML, in order for power to flow to the ignitor. If the Cutoff is open, it is usually because the Thrmst-F did not open soon enough. The Thermst-F will cycle, closed to open, and repeat, however the Cutoff-HTML is a one time switch. Dropped light panel by removing two screws with socket set. Unplugged two terminals and unclipped the light socket from the base. Then just clipped the new socket onto the base, plugged the connectors onto the terminals and remounted the base. Total job was less than 15 minutes. Read more

Took the whole dryer apart to access the wheels (4) of them, belt and fan wheel, also had to clean all the lint out that somehow builds up inside the dryer. Plus cleaned out dryer duct vent, added to the time involved. If you are planning on fixing the dryer because of a noise which was in my case, I highly recommend buy all the parts for complete maintenance mentioned above. What helped save me time? Phillips head screwdriver. Unscrewed the door hinge from dryer. Removed/Unscrewed back of door panel and removed panel. Keep track of screws removed as there are two different types specific for reassembly. I unscrewed the glass panel frame which was held in place with "torx" head screws, which was not necessary. For about the last month or so the clothes (especially sheets) would just roll into a ball (like a big sausage) the wouldn't dry. Kept readjusting the clothes. I went on the internet to see what the issue could be and found lots of advise about shaking out the sheet and clothes first, using tennis balls, and using fuller or smaller loads. Replaced timer. It's a snap in place timer, once you remove the defective timer, overall pretty easy. Read more

Replaced timer, thermostat, a thermal fuse, the pair of thermal cutoff switches and finally the heater element. Hard to say what the final fix was that did the trick -- I am guessing it was the heater element although the old one appeared to have good continuity.
