This is a mounting holder or grille that secures the moisture sensor bars inside the dryer drum area. The moisture sensor detects how wet the clothes are and signals the control board to end the cycle when they're dry. Replace this holder if it is cracked, broken, or missing, which can cause the sensor bars to be misaligned and lead to clothes coming out still damp or the dryer running too long.
I have order three parts, guide filter, cover guide, and sensor assembly. My previous cover guide was from two parts, when sensor assembly was one of them. New part ( guide cover ) was all in one piece so I just transfer old metal part of sensor to new cover guide and I don't need that sensor assembly anymore. I have ordered all three parts overnight by Fedex, ordered 15 min before 5pm, so next day it was here. Dryer is fixed, I'm happy. Read more
For the complete ice door kit order W10823377.
The ice dispenser chute door had not been sealing for years. The ice cubes on the lower portion of the ice bin would melt enough eventually to then freeze up into a big, amalgamated blob of ice due to ambient air coming up the chute. This melt-then-freeze would happen, to the extent the chute froze to its own closure. Despite service technician visits over a period of six years nothing they did resolved the issue. I opened the freezer door to reach into the bin from the top to extract usable... Read more

This door switch senses whether the appliance door is closed and signals the controls to run only when it's safe. Replacing a worn or intermittent switch restores dependable starts and proper shutoff when the door opens. What it does:
Dryer won't start or stops mid-cycle? This door switch detects when the door is closed, allowing your dryer to run. Simple DIY fix in 15-30 minutes.
Dryer won't start but has power and timer works? This belt switch kit stops the dryer when the belt breaks. Moderate DIY repair, 45-60 minutes.
Every time I tried to start our dryer, the "Sensing Light" came on, I heard a little "click," and the dryer would not start. According to the very helpful Appliance Parts Pros. videos, I was able to dismantle, diagnose a few components, and discover the broken part. In this case, it was a Broken Belt Switch. I ordered the part, we went on vacation for a week, and when we returned home the part was at our residence. The next day, I installed the part and all is good now. I am nearly 70 years... Read more
Seals the light lens to the oven cavity, blocking heat, steam, and grease from the bulb housing. Replace if cracked, brittle, or missing. Confirm fit.
Troubleshot the oven by checking the broiler which worked good (same fuel valve). After reading the some tips about troubleshooting the Glow Ignitor I could see the broiler ignitor got white hot and the oven ignitor only got bright orange (orange to red causes intermittent ignition or mini explosions). Watched the how to video and it was good information. You should be observant about which openings in the back of the oven as to where the two wires are coming out of. My oven is over 12 years... This assembly includes the gas burner and valve components that control the flow and ignition of gas in your dryer. It is responsible for producing the heat needed to dry clothes. Replace this assembly if your dryer is not heating, heats intermittently, or if you notice the gas igniter glowing but the burner failing to light.
Valve (or a component on it) was slowly leaking gas. I was able to easily replace the entire gas assembly with this order. Item was mostly pre-assembled, and contained all parts needed, including new igniter and coils. Read more
Structural bracket that secures the rear panel to the washer chassis. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to restore proper alignment and cabinet stability.
In the end, with a new coupler. But I relearned old lessons the hard way. The washer is in a rental unit and the tenant complained of no spin. My first intuition was that the coupler failed again because I bought a cheaper one elsewhere a couple of years ago and not the brand name available here at AppliancePartsPros. But we’ll come back to that. Lesson #1: Verify the symptoms firsthand. I dug in right away, popped out the motor and the coupler appeared okay. When I spun it by hand, it turned... Read more
This is the lint filter assembly that catches lint and debris from clothes during the drying cycle. It slides into the lint filter housing, typically located inside the dryer door or on top of the dryer. Replace this filter if the screen is torn, warped, or clogged beyond cleaning, which can cause longer drying times, overheating, or pose a fire hazard.
Ordered the part in the afternoon and received it the next day. Very happy. Read more
Adjustable leveling foot installs at the bottom of your appliance to ensure stability and proper leveling. Replace if broken, cracked, or missing.
I determined that it was a problem that occurred during the defrost cycle by resetting the GFCI outlet and forwarding the defrost timer until the defroster came on. Once the defrosting began, the GFCI outlet would reliably trip. I took apart the shielding inside of the freezer and tested the defrosting without the heating element or the thermostat connected. Since that looked good, I tested for proper functionality of the thermostat by removing it, placing it in a working freezer, and checking... Read more
This internal-bias thermostat regulates dryer drum temperature by cycling the heat on and off, helping maintain consistent drying performance and protect against overheating.
Cleaned exhaust duct, but only from the dryer/laundry room side. Replaced thermal fuse. Unit worked for about two loads and thermal fuse blew again. This time I cleaned the exhaust vent on the roof of my 2-story house. It was found to be partially obstructed and I was able to remove a significant amount of lint from it. Also, I researched the problem and followed someone's advice to replace the cycling thermostat together with the thermal fuse if the thermal fuse blows. So far it has been... Read more
This is the exterior air grille that covers the dryer's exhaust outlet, directing warm, moist air out of the appliance. It helps protect internal components and maintain proper airflow during the drying cycle. Replace this grille if it is cracked, warped, or has broken louvers that could restrict airflow and reduce drying performance.
Was an easy fix with the new part and instructions. Read more
Dryer won't heat or pilot lights but shuts off? This gas valve assembly controls burner ignition and flame. Typical DIY repair in 45-60 minutes.
I decided the problem was with the gas valve and I found the part on your web site. I ordered it and received the part in 3 days. I replaced the valve and the dryer works like new! This also gave me an opportunity to vacuum out the dust/lint that collects in and around the dryer. Read more
Flat-style dryer drum belt wraps around drum and motor pulley to spin clothes. Replace when belt breaks, frays, or drum won't turn. Confirm fit by model.
Replaced upper and lower felts. Painted rubbing surface on inside of drum with refrigerator enamel. Took out drum and lubed rear bearing. Replaced 2 of the 3 thermostats, and the belt just on principle. Spent a lot of time with shop-vac removing lint from drier and exhaust ducts. Runs great and is no longer cooking or staining clothes. Replacement flip-up door that covers the lint screen opening in your dryer's front bulkhead. Needed when original door is cracked, broken, or missing.
There is no good diagram explaining how exactly these fit in. I had to do trial and error. The parts are quite delicate so I actually broke one trying to get it in. I would recommend ordering an extra or two. These need springs tonfit correctly. Luckily I saved the old ones...if you don't have them, it won't work. Unscrew the two screws on outside and two inside. You don't have to take whole thing out, just loosen. Look carefully and you can see the two little holes in the plastic where... Read more
