Removed the screws, lifted the old lid out of the hinges. Replaced the hinges, set new lid in the hinges and replaced screws. Read more

I was able to order new hinge receiver brackets for the door. The repair was not that bad. I just had to take off the lower door, take the two trim pieces off the sides and unscrew the screws holding the oven into the face of the cabinet. Then slide it out about halfway and put a step stool under the front to keep it from tipping over. Then it was just a matter of taking off everything around the sides until I could take the brackets off, put the new brackets on, and put everything back... Read more

• Door won't close

The doors on our double wall oven (pro model) have been sagging partially open forever. I was told by someone somewhere that replacing the hinges wouldn't help. Well, this combination of hinges and receptacles definitely works! The doors close tighter than maybe they ever did. Called a Maytag repair man, said "the bumpers are no longer available". These little things are actually critical to operation, because the lid safety switch needs to be pressed back far enough to sense that the lid is closed, and without the bumpers, this is a little iffy.
