I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video and decided to remove the front panel to diagnose the problem. While the repair video is excellent, I could not remove the ice/water dispenser front panel with a putty knife. On my model, 106.56234400, there is no clip that can be released by sliding a putty knife up under the front panel. My wife said we have a problem with our dishwasher (Whirlpool WDT920SADE2). Appliance parts pro DIY video clips extremely useful. I recently purchased this home and like DIY projects if the repair isn't too difficult. First went through the troubleshooting guide on the website and read the various stories and watched the repair videos for replacing the springs and suspension pads. Then before ordering any parts disassembled the machine only to the point of removing the cabinet to see if there were any obvious issues. Background: Roper Electric Dryer model REX6634RQ0 purchased new in early 2006 by my wife. Dryer use profile is low to moderate as it was used by only one person (working from home) from 2006 to late 2007 then moved and stored in a dry basement until mid 2009. Moved and used by primarily just two people (plus occasional children visits) from mid-2009 thru late 2011 with three moves involved with in that time. After doing all the tests to determine the problem it turned out that it was likely the motor in the ice maker. Rather than fix the immediate problem with a new motor and for just a few dollars more since they're prone to failure anyway, I eliminated potentially future problems by just replacing the whole ice maker. Money well spent and my part arrived the day after I ordered it. Read more

The timer knob simply pulls off the shaft with a solid, steady pull. Cleaned the timer cavity of lint/dust buildup. Aligned the keying flat of the shaft and knob and pushed the new knob on with careful, steady pressure until it was obviously seated. No tools required other than a vacuum. The door switch would sometimes not shut the dryer off when the door was opened. New switch came with new fast-on connectors. Replaced both inlet valves, no joy. Upon further inspection, found ice maker harness extremely tight at lower freezer door hinge, clamped in place right at a pivot point. Essentially the harness is held in place and rotates with the door. 6 wires broken inside. Splice repair and ice maker now works. Most likely will have to replace harness eventually. Unless there is more slack inside the freezer door this will probably happen again. Very poor design. Read more
