Fix loud grinding noise or poor water circulation in your dishwasher. This pump and motor assembly circulates and drains water. Moderate DIY repair.
We initially noticed the dishwasher running loud and failing to completely clean dishes. Research suggested issues like this were normally caused by either the main circulation motor or the drain motor. Over the next week the noise worsened, and it became obvious that the circulation motor had went (loud whirring noise whenever the spin cycle kicked in). I watched a couple youtube videos on the removal and dissassembly until I felt confident that my wife and I could handle the project. For the... Read more
Fix washer won't drain or ND error code issues with this drain pump assembly. Removes standing water and prevents musty odors. DIY-friendly repair.
Washing machine pump failed with the washing machine full of water. Replacing a pump used to be a bear of a job with belts, pulleys, etc. but I thought that I should give it a look before I called the repairman. This one turned out to be a small discrete unit bolted to the bottom of the washer. I ordered the new pump, which came very quickly to my door. It was a ten minute job to replace it. One thing that I did that made the job much less of a mess was to use a wet vacuum on the... Read more

Washer not draining or draining slowly? This water pump assembly restores proper drainage and water circulation. Moderately difficult DIY repair.
Checked catch filter and realized pump was gone. This is my 2nd time replacing a pump but 1st on machine. I have a cleaning business and my washer gets double the work. Pretty sure Clorox killed this pump. Have a wet vac, small star nut driver and help putting wire ring back on. That is hardest part. PARTS ALWAYS COME SUPER FAST FROM APPLIANCE PARTS PRO. Read more
Leaking from the bottom or center of your dishwasher? The sump housing with included shaft seal often fixes this issue. DIY-friendly with video guide.
DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub. Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease. Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose. Read more
Fix water leaking from under your dishwasher with this pump volute. Directs water flow and prevents leaks with integrated seal. 20-minute repair.
I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Since I'd ordered the volute and impeller seal kits (as I wasn't sure which it was) I installed both while I had it apart. Runs great, no water - simple to do. The seal changes took about 20 minutes. The only... Read more
Fixes weak spray and poor cleaning caused by a worn impeller. Mounts on the circulation pump to drive water through spray arms. DIY-friendly repair.
Motor shaft was stripped, replaced with new shaft from Motor Seal Kit. Impeller was also cracked, so replaced it as well. I did run in to a small problem, the chopper blade was pressing against the metal grate on the piece that goes back over the motor seal. I spent about an hour messing with it, but thought maybe once it's all together it'll be fine. When you screw the impeller on, it pushes down the seals, which pushes down the chopper blade. Video on Motor Seal Kit page made it an... Read more

This is an electric drain pump that removes water from the wash tub during the drain and spin cycles of a washing machine. It is typically mounted at the bottom of the washer and connects to the drain hose. Replace this pump if the washer fails to drain, drains very slowly, or makes loud humming or grinding noises during the drain cycle.
The easiest way to fix the problem was to order a new water pump from AppliancePartsPros. This washer is located in our motorhome and was a real challenge to remove from its location so that we could work on it. After my husband replaced the water pump, the washer drains the water and works perfectly. Read more
Fix a dishwasher that won't spray water or makes grinding noises. This circulation pump and motor assembly restores proper water pressure to spray arms.
Dishwasher leaking from bottom or making grinding noise? The sump housing often cracks or wears out. Moderately difficult repair, about 45 minutes.
I noticed the floor around the dishwasher was starting to get wet and warp the wooden floor. The chopper had gotten out of line and had cut a pinhole into the sump housing and the dishwasher was leaking badly. It was quite easy to repair. Just unhook the drain hose and the wire connectors, twist off the turbidity sensor and waste motor, pull out the shims and the whole assemple comes up and out. The hardest part was pulling the motor off of the assembly, since I wasn't sure if I needed to... Read more
Dishwasher not spraying or making loud buzzing noise? Replace the pump and motor assembly. Moderate DIY repair takes 2-3 hours with basic tools.
Checked the grinder/pump well at the bottom of the dishwasher and fished out some aluminum foil, wire twist ties, broken plastic forks, etc. That was fun but it didn't solve the problem. Purchased new pump & motor assembly and installed it as per Youtube video. It requires pulling out the dishwasher, disconnecting electric, hotwater, and drain lines, and then removing a bunch of clips and connectors. That was time consuming but basically easy ... except that seating the new assembly gasket... Read more
Fixes washer not draining or buzzing during drain cycle. Replaces worn impeller vanes causing standing water. DIY repair takes under 1 hour with basic tools.
Well, I odered the drain pump kit, thinking the impeller was surely trashed. Video made it look easy, so I thought I'd just find the little filter compartment plugged! Hopes dashed, I have the small washer and it has neither the quick remove filter, nor front-side access. After some searching I found the maintenance manual which says to tip the washer forward and get at the pump from below. This compounds my misery because of my installation. It's on a boat, and the dryer's on top, and... Read more
