This dishwasher wash impeller mounts on the circulation pump to drive water through the spray arms. A worn or damaged impeller can cause weak spray, poor cleaning, or noise; replacing it restores proper wash pressure. What it does:
Motor shaft was stripped, replaced with new shaft from Motor Seal Kit. Impeller was also cracked, so replaced it as well. I did run in to a small problem, the chopper blade was pressing against the metal grate on the piece that goes back over the motor seal. I spent about an hour messing with it, but thought maybe once it's all together it'll be fine. When you screw the impeller on, it pushes down the seals, which pushes down the chopper blade. Video on Motor Seal Kit page made it an... Read more

This quality drain pump is designed to fit washing machines. It's an internal part that is tasked with removing the water that is in the tub during the spin cycle. The pump forces the water in the bottom to go up into the drain hose. The hose loops up to the top of the washing machine and then down to the drain so the tub can easily fill. If the pump is starting to fail, a humming noise may be present. If the washing machine drain pump needs to be replaced, unplug the appliance from the wall or turn off the circuit breaker. The water source should also be turned off throughout the process. Remove the washer face to get access to the drain pump. Disconnect the part and replace it with the new drain hose. This drain pump is made to work with several washing machines by Maytag. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer as a genuine OEM replacement part. The component is priced individually.

I noticed the floor around the dishwasher was starting to get wet and warp the wooden floor. The chopper had gotten out of line and had cut a pinhole into the sump housing and the dishwasher was leaking badly. It was quite easy to repair. Just unhook the drain hose and the wire connectors, twist off the turbidity sensor and waste motor, pull out the shims and the whole assemple comes up and out. The hardest part was pulling the motor off of the assembly, since I wasn't sure if I needed to... Read more

Well, I odered the drain pump kit, thinking the impeller was surely trashed. Video made it look easy, so I thought I'd just find the little filter compartment plugged! Hopes dashed, I have the small washer and it has neither the quick remove filter, nor front-side access. After some searching I found the maintenance manual which says to tip the washer forward and get at the pump from below. This compounds my misery because of my installation. It's on a boat, and the dryer's on top, and... Read more
