No spin every thing else worked made high speed ticking noise Anthony D. • Follansbee , WV • May 12, 2015
First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. I think that brake lockup or improper brake release was the problem that broke the plastic cam driver. This was the broken plastic part making all the ticking noise. I first changed the coupling on the motor but that wasn't bad. in...

Part Number: 12002211
This pulley and clutch assembly transfers motor torque to the dryer drum so clothes tumble evenly. Replacing a worn assembly restores proper drum rotation and helps stop slipping or noisy operation. What it does:
- Engages the motor to drive the drum and maintain proper tumble speed
- Maintains belt alignment and tension for smooth operation
- Worn clutch can cause the drum to slip, not turn, or restart intermittently
- Failing pulley bearings or clutch pads may cause squealing, grinding, or burning smells
What's included: One pulley & clutch assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power before beginning any repair
- Inspect the drive belt and drum rollers; replace if worn while access is available
- Use only manufacturer-recommended fasteners and torque; avoid adding lubricants to clutch surfaces

Clutch broke on maytag neptune washer Gary M. • Thomaston , CT • September 09, 2014
Actually the 2nd time to replace clutch, first one about 8 years ago. Priced clutch at appliance/repair shop near where I live. Price for part around $235.00 at shop, then I looked at Appliance part pros and same OEM part was around $175.00. Use flat scraper to release the two clips holding the top down, then a nut driver, 5/16 I think, to remove two top clips and front of machine lifts off. Lean machine against wall for bottom access to remove nut holding on clutch. reverse process and your...

Washer stops mid cycle Bryon G. • East Peoria , IL • October 10, 2016
Because the washer would stop mid cycle and would start again after some period of time, I presumed that there was something amiss in the drive train (i.e. motor, transmission, belt). Took the unit apart and discovered that two of the three brake pads were destroyed. Motor turned easily as did the transmission. Replaced the brake pads and reassembled. Now the washer doesn't stop as before, but will blow by all cycles never stopping to drain, spin, or rinse. It appears that they damaged...
