I looked online for the problem and then what I needed to fix it. I went to AppliancePartsPros.com and they even had a video that showed me exactly what to do. It was the water shutoff valve that controls the water flow to the door dispenser and the ice maker. I replaced it and no more icicles! Read more

Researched, then decided to try everything suggested. Cleaned the hidden filter under the washer, checked the lines and the water inlet valves, opened it up and found a hose rubbed thin because it wasn't clipped correctly during the manufacturing process. Replaced the inlet valve, pressure sensor and the thinned tube (all parts except the hose from appliance parts pros.com-had to get the hose at the car parts store). Replaced both primary and secondary water valves to make sure I fixed the problem. Both valves have to open when you function the water dispenser and when the ice maker tray needs refilling. YouTube video was a great help and let me know that I had to lengthen one hose. The video showed me the exact parts I needed to lengthen the hose. We have a built-in KitchenAid KSSC42QKS02. Unlike the other Kitchenaid or Whirlpool refrigerators, our valve is located at the bottom and towards the front of the refrigerator. I actually preferred it to be located at the back like the others. It would've been easier to get to. We had to lower the fridge turning the screws(front of the lower panel), so it would sit on the rollers. After some research on the internet,I found out that the most likely cause was a failed water inlet valve. The refrigerator is quite old so I wasn't going to spend an arm and leg on it to fix it. Removed cover from Whirlpool washer (~20 years old) and found water to be leaking from hose connection at Break Vac. Obviously the hose had to be replaced but the Break Vac looked corroded and partially plugged, too, possibly inhibiting water flow. While the cabinet was off I noticed the Suspension Spring was rusted off so I ordered 1 of those, too. Maytag Bravos Washer, Model #MVWX550XW1 My washer was emitting a loud noise - I describe it as a loud whining noise - while filling with water.
