Without knowing exactly what broke I ordered 2 springs and 2 door spring links. I knew the door springs were weak and a parts man told me many years ago to always replace BOTH springs or the one you didn't replace will soon break. I replaced the entire agitator (my appliance agitator could only be replaced in one part not the upper part only). It was super easy but one thing....the video on the website was not helpful because my maytag washer is older and does NOT have a screw down inside the agitator but has one 1/4 inch hex nut on the side down by the base. Good for me though because all I had to do was unscrew the nut, put the new agitator on, tighten the new nut and DONE!! Read more

Start by removing the frame on the sides and bottom of the door. (Do not unscrew the corner screw holding the side frame and bottom together.) Found the wonderful parts diagrams you most generously share online and a couple of YouTube videos . I determined it should be repairable. In my cast the agitator shaft was frozen (rusted) in place. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat.
