This plastic body fuel shutoff lever is a genuine OEM replacement part for many different engines on lawn and garden equipment. It is part of the fuel shutoff valve assembly. This valve controls the gas flow from the fuel tank to the engine. The shutoff lever is used to open or close the valve. This lever is a plastic part that may break or crack over time. Exposure to rain and snow and excessive use may lead to damage. When this happens, the shutoff lever should be replaced to prevent fuel from leaking from the fuel tank.Repairs to the fuel tank should be made outside where there is adequate ventilation. The purpose of a carburetor assembly is to combine the air and fuel that the engine takes in through a series of valves and then to transform that mixture into a flammable solution that can ignite within the engine. If an engine has a full tank of oil and is still struggling to power up, it is likely that the carburetor assembly is damaged. In order to verify that it is the carburetor that is preventing the engine from continuing to operate effectively, one can drop a spoonful of fuel directly into the carburetor and assess how the engine starts upon using the pull start.
