Turned off 40 Amp breaker. Removed shelves from oven. Removed two screws in back panel holding element in place. Slowly pulled element free making sure wires stayed attached and not lost in oven insulation. Removed two wires from old element. Attached wires to new element. Pushed wires back into oven rear wall. Turned off the oven power at the breaker box. Removed the (2) 1/4" screws holding the front support bracket and removed the front support bracket. So I ordered the burner and Ithe switch because I wasn't sure what part was defective. I pulled the oven out and I removed the 6 1/4 inch screws on each side of the glass top as well as the 2 Phillips head screws on the back, removing the 2 1/4 screws on the shield on the back gIves you easier access to them, then lifted the glass top up on the front to access the switch and burners. This particular radiant heater is the largest element on the cooktop. In the event that the burner is not heating up, this part may need to be replaced as there could be an element that is burned out. It may begin to heat up but won't get hot enough to cook correctly. The cook may also notice that the element does not cook evenly. There could also be physical signs of damage.
