Fix a light that won't turn on or flickers in your refrigerator. This E12 socket replacement is straightforward with our step-by-step video guide.
When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open. I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video. The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over. Replace cracked or broken ice bucket guide slides in your refrigerator freezer. Mounts to freezer wall to support and guide the ice bucket assembly.
Ordered right hand bucket glide and complete ice bucket assembly (cost more than just the cover, but did so in case other ice bucket assembly parts were worn out). Replacing bucket glide was done relatively easily by first turning off the icemaker, removing the old ice bucket assembly from the glides, removing all screws on the right hand glide, and loosening the screws on the left hand glide. This allowed the drive motor assembly (which fits in slots at the back of each glide) to move enough... Read more
Replaces the cracked or warped crisper drawer frame that supports the glass shelf above vegetable drawers and forms the rails for smooth drawer sliding.
The new replacement parts were absolutely perfect! Plus, the new drawer had a molded-in reinforcement in the same spot the old drawer broke - design improvement that should keep the new drawer safe much longer. Replacement was a snap - just slide out the old, slide in the new. The real advantage was, while we were at it, we cleaned out all the old bottles, produce, leftovers, etc, so that the refrigerator is now as clean inside as the day we bought it. Also important to note that the parts were... Read more

Fix leaking water or a non-working ice maker with this refrigerator water inlet valve. Moderate DIY repair in 30-45 minutes with basic tools.
First, I had to remove the cover plate on the back of the refrigerator. Then I unscrewed the water inlet valve from the rest of the assembly. I then unplugged the electrical contacts by pulling them apart. There are two fittings on the valve. One has a nut on it. That one just needs the nut unscrewed, after which the pex tubing can be pulled out. The other one has a pex connection. This one can be separated by simultaneously pushing in on the fitting neck while pulling the pex tubing out. On... Read more
Door solenoid with plunger.
I ordered a new solenoid and when it arrived, I installed it as follows: I cut the power to the refrigerator. I then pulled off the rubber boot (and it's plastic frame) that covers the water switch. Then I removed the bezel that covers the front of the ice maker controls by pulling it straight out. Then I removed the four screws found on the assembly under the bezel. After pulling the assembly forward a bit, I detached the multi-wire connector attached to it and put the assembly aside.... Read more

An ApplianceParts Pro representative helped me identify the correct model of my refrigerator. When I called GE, they didn't recognize the model and had no answer. . It involved took 2 easy e-mails for my rep to track down the part I needed. The part arrived the next day. It needed to be shortened, as I was told and it took about 10 minutes to complete the job.
