Initially cleaned -wife using smaller hands. Better idea to review why there is no SOP on the matter, and replace the part. This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. Watched your videos and easily replaced the solenoid, spring, flapper etc. The only reason it took me as long as it did is I have a GE monogram side-by-side in cabinet refrigerator. It is stainless steel and required me to take off all of the stainless steel skin on the freezer side door. While this was not that difficult it was time-consuming. Read more

• Door won't open or close

The fix involved removing the two bolts holding the broken door stop and bolting in place the new stop. Unless you take the door off, you have to work by feel due to the position of the door stop and the bolts holding the stop in place. A little patience is all that's required. A flip lock designed to keep kids out of cupboards is now in place so the damage won't reoccur. But if it does, its a quick, easy and inexpensive fix. Read more

After changing water filter, flow came to a stop. Would chatter without any water. Confirmed I had flow from the wall supply to the fridge as I broke the water line at the union and let run into a bucket. Then I removed the water filter housing and tube assembly after reconnecting supply. Now the water was only circulating from the wall to the filter housing to the bucket.
