After some simple troubleshooting, determined that it was likely the (rear) main control board. Once the new board arrived, it was installed in 5-10 minutes once the refrigerator was pulled out from the wall and the area cleaned up a bit. Ordered a new Fan motor after referencing Model Number. Part was delivered in a timely matter. Unplugged Refrigerator from wall. Used a socket to remove bolts from. Cardboard access cover and also to remove Fan bracket to remove old fan and unclipped connector. Fan Blade and the two rubber grommets I reused on new replacement motor. This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. Followed general instructions on APP video I found on YouTube for similar GE refrigerator. I soaked the gaskets in warm bath water first which may or may not have been required as I let the gaskets sit out flat in a warm house for a week first and they were about as straight as they would get. Installing the gasket in the groove was not very difficult assuming you have strong fingers. I had found that the fan in the freezer was making a lot of noise. Turns out the shaft was loose, causing the flan blade to wobble. Replaced the motor and fan and now it runs like a new unit. Read more
