- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing; high voltage is present

- Lift the cooktop to access the elements; move wires from the old element to the new one one at a time to match positions
- Ensure the element is centered and secured in the mounting clips before reassembly and testing

Problem solved by replacing element. An easy fix requiring only a Philips screwdriver. HOWEVER, be sure to turn off the electrical circuit to the oven because voltage is applied to one side of the element even when the oven control is turned off. If you let that connection terminal contact the oven frame sparks will fly !!

Whirlpool convection oven. Access to convection element from inside. Three screws to remove plate covering fan blade. Then one screw to remove element bracket. I placed tape over the holes with the wires so they wouldn’t pull back into the panel. Remove old element at tabs and replace. Very easy fix. Removing door to oven made it easier to get to but not necessary.
