Fix a dishwasher that won't wash or just clicks and hums. This pump and motor assembly circulates water during wash cycles. Moderate DIY repair.
My dishwasher was leaking and I called to have a certified technician come to diagnose the problem. I removed the kick panel from the bottom of the machine. He turned it on and we saw that water was leaking from the bottom. He said I needed a Sump kit but it wasn't in stock. The cost was $170 plus tax and labor cost was another $140. So I talked it over with dad and ordered the Sump kit, the hose clamp and a new diverter motor as mine was yellowed with age. The cost of all these parts and... Read more
Seals the dryer door to prevent heat loss and maintain drying efficiency. Replace if cracked, torn, or causing uneven drying. Confirm fit with model.
I replaced the gasket. Removing the old one was not easy. I used a razor knife to cut out most of it. And then I used rubbing alcohol to soften the remaining glue and scrapped it out with a small blade screwdriver Read more
Dishwasher not filling with water? A faulty water inlet valve prevents water flow during wash cycles. DIY-friendly repair in about 15 minutes.
Cycle would complete but dishes weren't clean (not even really wet) and soap wasn't dissolving. Could hear fill at start but maybe not spraying or filling again in cycle. Thought it was the control board, but actually this was not the error. Replaced the control board and same problem arose, only new control board version actually stopped cycle with message that dishwasher couldn't fill. Looking underneath the pump had somehow become dislodged from the bottom of dishwasher and was laying on... Read more
Standing water in dishwasher bottom or leaking onto floor? This impeller and seal kit repairs worn bushings and seals. 15-minute DIY fix.
I had previously disassemble the pump assembly to find what I at first thought was an oddly shaped spring, which it was. What I learned by researching the parts was that the spring's odd shape was a result of something having gotten caught in the pump and jamming the impeller. After ordering the parts, I watched the "repair video" a few time and proceeded to remove and replaced the affected parts. Reassembly went pretty much as described with the one small glitch being the seating of the new... Read more
Secures the upper spray arm to the rack in your dishwasher. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to properly support and position the spray arm.
I identified the parts I would need online, shopped for price and delivery, and ordered what I needed. I bought the support arm mount assembly and decided to replace the spray arm and tube as well. Installation was straightforward, although it took me a couple of tries to get the spray arm mount oriented correctly because it is angled to allow the spray arm to miss the deeper glasses channel on one side of the upper rack in the dishwasher. After clipping the arm support and the tube support... Read more
Replacement spinner for dishwasher third level wash arm. Installs on top rack shaft to spray water during wash cycle. Needed when spinner falls off, breaks, or wears out.

Replacement tine row for dishwasher upper or lower rack. Holds dishes upright and properly spaced. Replace if tines are rusted, broken, or rotted away.
Just replaced the things. Had to reuse old tine rows, rollers, the spray arm, etc., i.e. I removed 'em from the old racks and put on the new ones, but that was piece of cake. Also, I cleaned the food grinder and the discharge valve compartment (thank you very ???? ???? much, Internet), so spray arms around the top rack get enough water pressure now. I didn't have to buy any parts for the latter part of this little repair project, though. Read more
Supports smooth rotation of the spray arm hub in your dishwasher. Replace if cracked, worn, or broken to restore proper spray arm movement and alignment.
My discharge would not empty after a wash cycle and I always had gross gray water left in the bottom approx 3" deep? After doing the obvious things of checking the simp for garbage, and checking that the discharge hose wasn't blocked, I removed my discharge pump ( not too hard to do) and tested. My pump which did run and turn the impeller. However, the pump evidently had weakened with time and weakened and could no longer pump the waste water up hill to the "T" connection under the sink. Dryer won't spin or makes loud humming or grinding noises? The drive motor powers the drum rotation. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours with basic tools.
This was a Maytag DE312 actually a Whirlpool labeled as Maytag) and is 27 years old. Replaced motor, drive belt and drum rollers. One tricky part was the motor because the new motor comes with integral starter and it was necessary to cut off existing female spade connectors on some wires and crimp on new connectors. Instructions were adequate but need to be carefully followed and a decent electrical stripping and crimping tool must be at hand. I bought a new motor drive pulley because another... Read more
Seals motor housing to prevent dust and moisture from damaging internal components. Replace if you notice oil leaking or residue buildup. Confirm fit with your mixer model.

Watch out for the single lock washer located on the rear upper housing screw, you don't want to lose this! Read more
Delivers water from pump to upper spray arm in your dishwasher. Replace if cracked, leaking, or has mineral buildup affecting water flow to the spray arm.
While this is a Whirlpool dishwasher, I have the Kenmore Elite version of it. I believe them to be identical for parts. A little background: The first symptom I had of problems was plastic bits from the ball bearing retainer strips in the slides falling out. Then ball bearings falling out. A common problem with this dishwasher. When disassembling the upper basket, some of the gray plastic pieces were very brittle and easily snapped off. So I ended up replacing all of the plastic pieces related... Read more
Replace cracked or broken dishwasher upper rack wheels. Attaches to the upper dishrack and glides along tracks for smooth loading and unloading access.
I originally ordered this part from the KitchenAid website because I assumed I needed to buy the part directly from them since they manufactured my dishwasher. Five minutes after ordering the part from them, I went on Youtube to see if there was a video instructing on the installation of the upper dishrack wheel since I wanted to make sure I installed it correctly. I saw the AppliancePartsPros.com video related to this part. I then checked the APP website and found the part for $11.00 less.... Read more

I watched a video on how to change these. I had ordered one a month ago because one had failed. I had no trouble --less than 30 seconds -- to insert a new for the bad one. Then a few weeks later, a 2nd one failed -- there are 4 of them -- and I figured that I might as well change out the bad one as well as the two "good" original ones. Total time to change out the 3 was less than two minutes and that included getting the rack completely out of the dishwasher...which you have to do in... Read more
