Dishwasher Axle, Roller, Pulley Parts

Thanks to the excellent videos along with my experience as an aircraft component mechanic, I was able to replace the a number of major parts, including the armature, field assembly, brushes and 3 gears. Took my time, got it back together and set the motor speed on the first try. I'm very happy, because now my wife is very happy too. She's had that mixer for over 30 years, and now it runs like new. Replaced upper rack (it comes with wheel assembly). The only tricky part was removing spray bar from old rack. Read more

Replaced Speed control plate. The contact points were pitted and burnt and not making good contact. I also replaced the agitator shaft, as it was slightly worn, and thought I would get the spring along with it as it was shown in the part image, but did not come with it. This was a problem that I'd had previously with this mixer. The worm gear, which is designed to fail (so that more serious damage does not occur to the motor), did fail while I was mixing some multi-grain bread dough. I replaced the upper nozzle guide, nozzle shaft and upper spray arm. I also replaced the pump gasket for good measure. Top rack dishes had not been cleaning properly. I first removed the filter assembly to inspect the main pump from above. It was clogged but after cleaning and reassembly I observed that while middle and bottom spray arms were changing position, the upper spray arm was not. Removed the old planetary and cleaned metal shavings from gears. Transferred the old axle/gear assembly onto the new planetary. Inserted the new (and expensive) screw for the main gear and torqued it very tight (as well as the original other four screws). Slid the new planetary gears together and re-inserted the holding pin.
