I first received the quality parts in less than 2 days. It took me 5 minutes to change out the timer and 2 of the minutes were finding where my fiancée put the Phillips head screwdriver. Unplug dryer first, remove top three screws from back panel. Pull old timer up and out, have new timer in hand and transfer one wire at a time. Once all wires are transferred, snap the new timer in its place. Replace your three screws, put knob on timer. Plug in dryer and test. Once completed, cleanup your... Read more

Dryer won't shut off or timer won't advance? This control timer manages cycle duration and prevents continuous running. Moderate DIY repair.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Timer would not advance past the cool down cycle as a result dryer would not shut off unless you manually advanced the time dial or opened the dryer door   David F. • Carmel , IN • October 14, 2018

Replaced the timer - This should have been a VERY easy repair however, there is a clip (holding the timer to panel) on the bottom of timer than must be removed with a pair of pliers. There is absolutely NO room to access this clip so I had to take apart much of the dryer to gain access. What should have been a 15 minute repair turned into a frustrating hour. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Timer did not advance on kenmore electric dryer   Marchant W. • Washington , DC • October 31, 2015

Replaced timer, thermostat, a thermal fuse, the pair of thermal cutoff switches and finally the heater element. Hard to say what the final fix was that did the trick -- I am guessing it was the heater element although the old one appeared to have good continuity. All praise goes to the on line chat Pros Erica B and Robin C that took considerable amount of time and effort to help me decipher the problem. For that alone, Appliance Parts Pros will be my go to source for appliance parts for the... Read more

Timer
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10185970

The Timer is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. It controls the electrical components and the timing of the dryer cycles, ensuring that clothes are dried for the appropriate amount of time.

Over time, timers can become faulty due to normal wear and tear, electrical surges, or internal mechanical failure. If the timer motor fails or the contacts inside the timer wear out, it will no longer be able to accurately regulate the dryer’s cycle duration.

Symptoms of a bad timer include:

  • Dryer not starting
  • Dryer running continuously without advancing through the cycle
  • Dryer stopping mid-cycle
  • Inaccurate cycle times

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Control
Genuine Wci part
By: Wci
Part Number: 134557200NH

The Control Board is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dryers. It is the central processing unit that controls all functions and operations of the dryer. The board receives input from sensors, activates heating elements and motor controls, and determines dryness levels based on temperature, moisture, and time settings.

Causes of a bad control board can include failure due to wear and tear over time, exposure to heat and electrical stresses during normal operating cycles, as well as damage due to external impact or moisture intrusion.

Symptoms of a bad control board include:

  • The dryer not starting or powering on
  • Display/touchpad malfunctions
  • Failure to progress through cycles
  • Inability to achieve set heat or time settings
  • Erratic programs or operation

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux and some Kenmore model dryers.

Downloaded the Frigidaire Service Manual for Electric 5.8 cubic foot dryer from the ApplicanePartsPro.com forum. Used its information to check for error codes. None display. Ran the function test sequence. All the tests OK. Used a mutli-meter to check the circuit to the moisture sensor bars inside the door. Thought maybe the circuit could be open due to a loose plug or broken wire. This could signal the control board that the clothes are dry. This all checked OK. Since the top four... Read more
