Then I had to unstack the dryer from the washer, remove all covers, disconnect all hose connections, shock mounts and springs and remove the tub assembly. I first felt along each heating element (bake and broil) hoping to find a rough or blistered place on them. But they were both smooth with no irregular places. (replacing the elements would have been the easiest and cheapest repair. Pulled the back off the range (unplugged, of course) - checked wiring. There were no loose connections or burned wiring. I originally ordered the Fan motor from a appliance dealer. I waited for 5 days for it to arrive. In the meantime I scavenge a motor from a junk refrigerator from the dump. It was a pretty easy fix not as easy as the 1 nut models they show on YouTube it had 3 tiny ones that my big hands had a bit of trouble with. It said 15 minutes it took me about a half an hour. I called a service company just to see what they would charge. $90.00 to say hello 1 hour minimal labor $110.00 and $120.00 for the part. It cost me $90.00 and 30 minutes of my time. The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. Replacement of the element was relatively straightforward, but there are a couple of things to be aware of before you begin. First, turn off power to the stove at the breaker box. Allow the cooktop to raise by removing the two screws that secures it on the underside of the front edge. Open the oven door to do this. Removed the bake element and broil element. Tested them with a multi meter. They failed. Ordered new elements. Received them in 2 days. Installed new elements. Oven works great. Entire fix took 10 minutes to remove and test elements, 10 minutes to install the new elements. It was my first time working on an appliance, the instruction videos were great! Read more
