Then I had to unstack the dryer from the washer, remove all covers, disconnect all hose connections, shock mounts and springs and remove the tub assembly. We are very inexperienced appliance repair people. Thus check it out first to see if we can fixit...successs. First checked to be sure it wasn't the actual switch. I first felt along each heating element (bake and broil) hoping to find a rough or blistered place on them. But they were both smooth with no irregular places. (replacing the elements would have been the easiest and cheapest repair. Pulled the back off the range (unplugged, of course) - checked wiring. There were no loose connections or burned wiring. Checked water lines and cleaned them out. Issue persisted. Researched options. Common response was to replace the water valve. Recommendation to replace gaskets, if needed. Replaced old water valve with new one (fairly easy process), and retested the machine. Worked fine, and has since. I kept the old unit, as the individual solenoids can be replaced should I need one in the future. Read more

Well, my husband fixed it. First of all, the parts came super quick! He then had to take out the installed dryness sensor unit and install a new one with the new filter that prevents lint from getting into the exhaust motor. When the exhaust motor is filled with lint, it makes a thumping sound. So, before he put in the new parts, he had to disassemble the dryer to clean out the exhaust motor from the compacted lint. I originally ordered the Fan motor from a appliance dealer. I waited for 5 days for it to arrive. In the meantime I scavenge a motor from a junk refrigerator from the dump. It worked while I waited for the motor from the appliance dealer. When I picked it up 5 days later it was the "wrong" part. I was fuming mad. Replacement of the element was relatively straightforward, but there are a couple of things to be aware of before you begin. First, turn off power to the stove at the breaker box. Allow the cooktop to raise by removing the two screws that secures it on the underside of the front edge. Open the oven door to do this. 1. After hearing a loud noise on the freezer side of unit about halfway up, I started investigating what it could be? My conclusion was evaporator motor or evaporator fan blade. One of the signs of this issue was a distinct change in sound when I opened the freezer door. I ordered a new motor and blade, not knowing exactly what it was. 2.
