We were experiencing slow water flow from our Whirlpool interior water dispenser. The water would flow normally for a couple of seconds then subside to a trickle. After replacing the water filter and inlet valve, research suggested that the water filter head could be the culprit. 1. Sleeve for input, Injector valve, nozzle and seal for input fixed this problem. Probably the main part that was the trouble was a deformed Injector Valve which is a rubber tube with an internal retention groove at the wide part that grips the Nozzle. The Sleeve and the Nozzle are hard plastic parts that basically looked fine, but I replaced them anyway while I was in there. There are five LED's in the ceiling and two along each side of the refrigerator compartment and one in the freezing compartment of which (throughout my ownership of my French-door KitchenAid refrigerator) I've replaced three. I had to pop the lid up from the front with a screw driver, and behind the element was a metal piece, a heat shield, that had two screws that had to be removed from the back. The little part with the blue round tag (part of the kit that came with the element) was easily removed with one screw. I think I could have just replaced the pump, but I chose to replace the whole assembly. The part is more expensive, but all the gaskets, etc, that come with it are new and that made sense to change all at once. I was able to change this in about 30 minutes, without removing the washer from the under-counter space. I did remove the front door panel, but in retrospect that was unnecessary and probably cost me more time than it saved. Empty the washer of parts, remove the front access panel.... Read more

Dishes were 'gritty' with an almost invisible coating of specks smaller than grains of salt. Toughest part of this repair is figuring out how to get things apart. Amana doesn't provide you a repair manual showing how to disengage the various plastic covers. Initially disassembled the bottom freezer compartment so I could get to the evaporator coils; they were completely frozen in block of ice, restricting air flow to the fridge above. I bumped into my KitchenAid dishwasher and the upper rack adjuster cracked. There was already a crack on the notch of the housing where the handle (lever) sits. I removed the front panel of the dryer and the metal cover over the blower wheel. Removed the lock ring and clamp. Removed the old wheel and placed the new wheel on the shaft. I thoroughly cleaned all the lint around the area and inside the front cover. I resealed the metal cover over the blower and reinstalled the front cover. Dryer works great. Easy fix, I spent more time thoroughly cleaning all the lint. Read more

Having never fixed a fridge before, I did a little research. The unit was not old & the cooling system was operating.
