Jenn-Air Large Surface Element
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10823692

The Large Surface Element is an OEM component for Whirlpool ranges. As a key heat source, it withstands significant thermal stresses each use for cooking tasks. This surface element measures approximately 10” in diameter.

Over time, microfractures may accumulate in the ceramic glass from repetitive heating/cooling cycles. Mineral deposits also build up on the surface, reducing heat transfer effectiveness.

Symptoms involve:

  • Inconsistent or diminished heat from the designated zone
  • Noticeable cracks, clouding or chips in the glass material
  • Safety hazards if integrity is lost, exposing electrical/gas

The element is compatible also for select KitchenAid and Maytag appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Element will not heat

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Burner on my jen air pro range rusted out   Frank M. • Providence , RI • November 15, 2014

After many years of excellent service the burner I use most often on the top of my JenAir range rusted through. After trying to remove the burner, which was firmly rusted into place, I decided to replace the cooktop pan, both burners and igniters. It was an easy repair to swap out the new parts for the old, and the only tool necessary was a #2 phillips screw driver. Jenn-Air Bearing
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP22003441

The OEM Replacement is a bearing designed to function as the rear bearing in Whirlpool front-load washers. It also works as the upper brake bearing in top-load washers. Positioned near the tub's brake assembly, this component plays a significant role in the operation of the washer. In top-load washers, it resides above the brake assembly.

Causes of a bad bearing can include prolonged wear and tear, exposure to excessive loads, or water intrusion that leads to rust and corrosion. A compromised bearing can lead to more significant issues if not addressed promptly.

Symptoms of a bad bearing include:

  • Loud, unusual noises during the wash or spin cycles
  • Excessive vibration or movement of the washer
  • The drum not rotating smoothly or becoming stuck
  • Leaks around the drum area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. If you are replacing the bearings, watch on line videos prior to performing the job. It will... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Would run fine but would not dry clothes something would not allow the dryer to heat   Todd K. • Burr Oak , MI • March 10, 2017

For several months we could smell a slight odor of propane in the laundry room and wondered why, just didn't seem like it was enough to be overly concerned, but thought something must be wrong with the dryer, but it was still working. We just didn't know how inefficiently. Then the extra time it took to dry a load of clothes progressively seemed to get longer, but things still seemed to work fine and the clothes got dried, given enough time.
