For about the last month or so the clothes (especially sheets) would just roll into a ball (like a big sausage) the wouldn't dry. Kept readjusting the clothes. I went on the internet to see what the issue could be and found lots of advise about shaking out the sheet and clothes first, using tennis balls, and using fuller or smaller loads. 18 year old Maytag Atlantis top load washer had a load knocking and rattle sound with excessive vibration when the tub was spinning, but not when it was agitating. They was no water leaking. Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

I replaced drum rollers, axle shafts and front bearing kit. Still had noise. Ordered Idler Arm, Belt Tension Pulley & Washers. I ordered parts at 3:30 pm on a Wednesday, received new parts at 11:30 am Thursday. The instructions & videos were very simple to follow and provided excellent tips. Back up and running with silence in an 1/2 hour. My 13 year old dryer is running like new again. Way cheaper than calling a repairman. Read more

Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. Without knowing exactly what broke I ordered 2 springs and 2 door spring links. I knew the door springs were weak and a parts man told me many years ago to always replace BOTH springs or the one you didn't replace will soon break. Found the wonderful parts diagrams you most generously share online and a couple of YouTube videos . I determined it should be repairable. In my cast the agitator shaft was frozen (rusted) in place. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat. First remove the back from the washing machine. Top of the machine came off simple. To replace springs, I took a crow bar but it on the right side underneath where one of the springs should be. Lift the tumbler up remove and replace the spring. Did the same thing to the other side. On the tumbling unit there are spaces for three shock absorbers. Mine only had one shock in the middle. The ice dispenser chute door had not been sealing for years. The ice cubes on the lower portion of the ice bin would melt enough eventually to then freeze up into a big, amalgamated blob of ice due to ambient air coming up the chute. I ordered a pair of springs from AppliancePartsPros.com. When the new springs arrived, I unscrewed the frame from the counter top, slid the dishwasher out part of the way and installed the new springs and saved myself at least one-hundred dollars. Read more

• Door won't close

It was a simple fix. I removed the six screws holding the side panel on the range. Removed the broken parks of the spring. I use a screwdriver to help stretch the new spring into place. I then replaced the side panel and screwed it on. About ten minutes work. Read more
