The Front Felt Glide Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This part allows smooth operation of the dryer drum, providing a felt pad that the drum glides on as it rotates. This not only helps to support the drum but also minimizes friction and noise, contributing to the efficient and quiet operation of the dryer.
Over time, the felt portion of the glide assembly can wear down, leading to increased friction between the drum and the dryer's front panel.
Symptoms of a bad Front Felt Glide Assembly include:
- Unusual noises during operation, such as squeaking or grinding
- The dryer drum may catch or hesitate during rotation
- Increased wear and tear on clothing due to the drum's rough movement
- The dryer may take longer to dry clothes efficiently due to the drum's impaired rotation
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Worn bearing and felt causing dryer drum to rattle and creek Bay S. • Bothell , WA • January 05, 2016
Recommendations have fun and a bucket to prevent losing parts. First watch the videos, practice disassemble and reassemble the dryer drum. Make certain you have a good screw driver and spatula from kitchen (could not find my putty knife). Secondly, clean and inspect everything, make sure the motor bearing and belt pulleys are in good condition with little or no play. Third after you have confidently disassembled, vacuum cleaned, inspected all the worn parts, grease the motor and pulley,...

The Drum Slide is an OEM replacement part for GE clothes dryers. It supports the front of the dryer drum, allowing it to rotate smoothly and quietly. Made of durable materials, this component reduces friction as the drum spins, ensuring that the appliance operates with minimal noise and wear.
Causes for a malfunctioning Drum Slide can include wear and tear from the constant rotation of the drum, accumulation of lint or debris causing friction, or damage due to overloading the dryer may also disrupt slide movement quality over time.
Symptoms of a faulty drum slide include:
- Noisy or off-balance drying
- Excessive drying times from inadequate tumbling action
- Premature wear of bearings and drive components due to slide friction issues
This GE OEM replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Older ge gas dryer was putting rust like stains on clothing Christopher T. • Ypsilanti , MI • September 30, 2015
After removing the top panel of the dryer, I removed 2 screws down inside (with unusual square head) to free the front panel then disconnected the wiring connecting the front panel to the dryer by gently pushing at the clips with a flathead screwdriver; this allowed me to fully remove the front panel. There is a large round lip on the front panel which holds the drum in place, and it was easy to see that the felt around this lip had degraded and turned completely orange and was the source of...

This upper drum felt is the replacement seal that cushions and guides the dryer drum for quieter operation and smoother rotation. It helps protect the drum edge and prevents clothes from catching where the drum meets the front bulkhead. What it does:
- Cushions the drum and reduces metal-on-metal rubbing that causes squeaks or grinding noises
- Keeps garments from getting caught between the drum and cabinet edge
- Helps maintain proper drum alignment for even rotation
- Limits lint and airflow loss at the drum front to support optimal drying performance
What's included: One upper drum felt seal Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; for gas dryers also shut off the gas supply and disconnect the gas line per manufacturer instructions
- Remove the dryer front panel or bulkhead as required to access and replace the upper felt; keep track of fasteners and orientation
- Inspect the drum, drum rollers, glide, and lower felt while servicing and replace any worn parts to prevent premature wear of the new felt

Damaged felt gaskets top & bottom on dryer door face and shattered plastic glides on dryer drum front Kathleen Z. • Moxee , WA • June 10, 2016
I removed the damaged felt strips and all adhesive residue from the dryer door face. Then I installed the new felt strips. The plastic glides snapped into place easily on the drum. Reinstalling the door was a simple operation, and the drum fit snugly on the new felt gaskets. The dryer works great now, runs quietly, and the entire repair cost much less than a service call or purchasing a new dryer.
