Funny, my husband did it. We have a service contract but you know how long that still takes. So he found the part at the bottom of the dishwasher and it had a number on it. Performed diagnostic tests. Had code for no heat. I performed a continuity check on the element and found it to be bad. I replaced the Heating Element per the video directions they provided on their website. I also replaced the Hi-Limit Thermostat since I was in that area already. Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

• Will not fill with water

Ordered new inlet water valve and float switch kit. After repairs it now works fine. However the water inlet valve outlet end for fill hose (not water source) and wire connections (supposedly for this unit) were oriented 180 degrees opposite. I had to gently remove the blue plastic valve off the metal support bracket and turn it around and press back in place. Fortunately it appears it was designed for either orientation. Just replaced the things. Had to reuse old tine rows, rollers, the spray arm, etc., i.e. I removed 'em from the old racks and put on the new ones, but that was piece of cake. Also, I cleaned the food grinder and the discharge valve compartment (thank you very ???? ???? much, Internet), so spray arms around the top rack get enough water pressure now. Ordered numerous replacement parts. Started with the tracks which required pulling the washer out of the cabinet to reach the screws. Pushed it back in and re-secured. Then stared on the rack and replaced the rack adjusters and various clips. Everything is straight forward and easy to replace. I originally called a local repair place to have them repair it.
