Fix a detergent dispenser that won't open or close properly with this latch kit. Includes all components for secure closure. 10-15 minute repair.
Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more
Fix a dishwasher door that pops open during the wash cycle or won't stay closed. This latch secures the door and maintains proper sealing. DIY repair.
Tried bending the strike to get a firmer grip, but no luck. Replaced the door latch and strike. Washer is about ten years old. You can feel the new catch has a more positive engagement. When you replace the strike, be sure not to tilt it downward in front. It will go in the way but it will keep the door from closing. Not sure I needed to replace the strike but didn't want to risk more downtime. Read more
Dishwasher won't start or door won't stay closed? The door latch bracket secures the latch mechanism for proper door closure. 30-45 min DIY repair.
Our 7 y/o dishwasher wouldn't close and therefore we couldn't get it to run. I called several service places who charged $75-$90 diagnostic plus parts & labor, and they were not able to get here for at least a week. I knew it was going to run at least $200. Kitchenaid wanted > $400 for a 1 YEAR WARRANTY, but it would cover this service call and any more throughout the next year. Seemed a little steep given the unit is already 7 y/o. I watched a couple videos on this site and YouTube and... Read more
Fix a dishwasher that stops mid-cycle or won't start without holding the door closed. This latch assembly secures the door and activates switches.
Discovered that the common cause of the problem was the latch in the door. Found a video online that showed the exact procedure for my model dishwasher. Ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros on a Thursday afternoon and it was in my hands by noon on Friday. Carefully took the door apart, compared parts, reassembled, and the joy on my wife's face was priceless when the dishwasher started up without doing anything special. Do not be afraid to attempt this repair. Read more

Broken or loose dishwasher door handle? This replacement handle restores secure opening and closing. Straightforward 20-30 minute repair with screwdriver.
Had to remove the screws that hold the dish washer to the counter top by knocking them out of the counter top. After seeing how the door handle worked I will not have to do again as all you have to do to open is stick a long screw driver up inside and push the chip and it opens. Ordered handle installed it now everything works fine. $29.00 for little plastic handle seems quiet rediculous but Kitchenaid and parts direct where $39.00 so I guess I got a bargain. As for the tools you a trox driver... Read more
Fix a dishwasher that won't start or run because the door won't latch. This strike receiver allows the latch to engage and signal a closed door.
I have a Kenmore dishwasher and this is the second time doing this repair. The dishwasher door wouldn’t click in place when closed and the lights on the control panel wouldn’t turn on. My kids like to push on the handle to get onto the counter causing the latch assembly piece to break after awhile. It’s a simple fix with the hardest part being getting the front panel lined back up to put back on. I ended up not needing the strike piece but got it just in case it had been bent. Read more

Always a success with appliance parts pro! Be it the dishwasher, stove, fridge or what have you, I get great advice and instruction on how to trouble shoot and help ordering parts. Best is that if I trial a part and that wasn't the problem, the part is able to be sent back and refunded. I love this company. Fix a broken or cracked dishwasher handle cap. This end cap secures to the door handle. DIY-friendly repair takes about 20-30 minutes with basic tools.
One end cap was broken but I ordered 2 since the shipping was the same price. I replaced both by removing the Tork screws on both sides of the door panel (one side at a time). There was a bolt on the inside panel of the door that secured the end cap. I replaced the end cap and tightened the bolt moderately so as to not crack the plastic end cap. Total job was 30 mins replacing both end caps and including figuring out how to get to them. NOTE - be careful to not open the door panel sections... Read more
