I am 63 years old and have not done any repairs like this, but repair service for Samsung appliances is cost prohibitive. I replaced both support springs. It took several tries to get the springs installed in the correct orientation, even though I had read--and thought I understood--the instructions. The retainer side pin must be fed through the slot with the adjustment notches, and then latch it in the proper notch.
