Replaced control board. Did not need Control Thermistor in my case, but I'm keeping it as backup. Got the Drum Belt just in case it breaks on me since the dryer is aging. To replace control board: Disconnect power and pull dryer away from wall. Take 2 black screws on the back off to remove the top lid. Remove 2 screws on top that hold the control interface on. Shopped online and found your great website, read reviews and based diagnostics on similarities I saw in other peoples stories. So I was able to choose correctly when replacing the circuit board. I turned off the power then removed the six or so screws from the back of the top panel. I marked the two front wires on the latch with tape so I would not get them confused. I removed the two screws holding the latch on--these take a six pointed star bit on the screw driver--the bit is in most screw driver sets with interchangeable heads. Fixed by replacing the washer door seal "Bellows". Once again AppliancePartsPros comes through with the right part at a great price. It took quite some time to install because putting the inside spring back on the bellow was difficult so I needed to remove the top and front door of the washer to get better access. Originally we tried some clear packing tape — we keep the refrigerator very clean and it was becoming ridiculous. So we ordered the parts from appliancepartspros.com. It takes a minute to review the expanded diagram to decide exactly which parts to order. For example we had to get a new glass shelf for the crisper drawer as this is what the wheels attach to, and then unscrew out existing metal bracket from the broken one and reattach to the new one. Had to purchase a new filter as the felt does not feed back into the ridge in the filter. It seems to me that the felt should not pull out so easily. My dryer isn't even a year old so I think this is a design failure. But the new filter works great and hopefully we won't have this problem again. Thank you for your prompt service! Read more
