Kenmore model 106.74252402 fridge with icemaker. Believe it or not, this was fixed with only a 1/4" nutdriver. The parts fit exactly and took 10 minutes each to replace. The most surprising was the inlet valve. I didn't need to cut any tubing since the old valve had push-connectors like the replacement. It was identical. Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. Replaced both primary and secondary water valves to make sure I fixed the problem. Both valves have to open when you function the water dispenser and when the ice maker tray needs refilling. YouTube video was a great help and let me know that I had to lengthen one hose. The video showed me the exact parts I needed to lengthen the hose. YouTube video also let me know that I had needed to transfer the internal springs in the hoses when I cut the old connections off. Never would have known... Read more

I checked the drain hose for blocking at the garbage disposal and then at the connection point to the dishwasher. The hose was clear and nothing was obviously obstructing where the drain hose connects to the dishwasher. At this point I Googled the model number with the term "will not drain" and immediately landed on the AppliancePartsPros.com website. I looked online for the problem and then what I needed to fix it. I went to AppliancePartsPros.com and they even had a video that showed me exactly what to do. It was the water shutoff valve that controls the water flow to the door dispenser and the ice maker. I replaced it and no more icicles! Read more

We have a built-in KitchenAid KSSC42QKS02. Unlike the other Kitchenaid or Whirlpool refrigerators, our valve is located at the bottom and towards the front of the refrigerator. I actually preferred it to be located at the back like the others. It would've been easier to get to. We had to lower the fridge turning the screws(front of the lower panel), so it would sit on the rollers. After some research on the internet,I found out that the most likely cause was a failed water inlet valve. The refrigerator is quite old so I wasn't going to spend an arm and leg on it to fix it. Removed cover from Whirlpool washer (~20 years old) and found water to be leaking from hose connection at Break Vac. Obviously the hose had to be replaced but the Break Vac looked corroded and partially plugged, too, possibly inhibiting water flow. While the cabinet was off I noticed the Suspension Spring was rusted off so I ordered 1 of those, too.
