This is the front-facing outer door panel for a trash compactor, featuring a stainless steel finish. You need to remove the entire compactor basket, so that can be a little unwieldy. There are 8 total Phillips head screws. Two on each side of the wrap-around portion of the panel, two on the bottom of the panel, and two larger screws that are used to hold the foot pedal in place. The two lower screws on the bottom of the panel also screw through the rubber stop strip on the bottom of the basket. Replaces the outer door panel on your dishwasher. Needed when the existing panel is dented, scratched, discolored, or you want a different finish.
Removed the original outer door retaining screws with torque bit. Unfortunately the new door was slightly thicker than the original. Therefore also removed (loosened) the control panel to fit the new door behind the control panel slots that the outer door was to slide tabs into. Fastened all screws back in place. Control panel screws very tight fit but forced into place. Looks great but difficult as new outer door not perfect fit in thickness. Read more
