I finally found the right serial number and found the part at Appliance Parts Pros. I was skeptical that they would send the element that had the correct rear brace fixture. when it came 2 days later i opened the box the Part was correct and it took about 15 minutes to replace since there are only two screws. There are hex screws keeping the igniter in place. I think they were 5/16...so you have to have a socket wrench. The space is kind of tight, and it's all on the right side, so if you're left handed (like I am) it's going to be a challenge to get the hex screws out without dropping them. Dropping them isn't too bad if they don't fall into the hole the gas pipe is coming through. Unfortunately one of them fell in there, and there's no getting it out of there. First went through the troubleshooting guide on the website and read the various stories and watched the repair videos for replacing the springs and suspension pads. Then before ordering any parts disassembled the machine only to the point of removing the cabinet to see if there were any obvious issues. Using appliancepartspros.com site took washer apart to diagnose bad clutch. The clutch was bad but once inside I noticed grease everywhere and after a quick online chat with rep. determined gear case was leaking and needed replacement. Replaced clutch & gear case. Followed video tutorial and took a little more than 30 minutes start to finish for me - I have no experience. This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

I replaced the supply lines and mesh in-line filters. I made sure incoming water pressure was strong. I also cleared some debris from the internal drain filter down below. The F20 persisted. My plan was to start swapping out parts from the inlet on. I ordered the valve and got it in a day. While this is a Whirlpool dishwasher, I have the Kenmore Elite version of it. I believe them to be identical for parts. A little background: The first symptom I had of problems was plastic bits from the ball bearing retainer strips in the slides falling out. Then ball bearings falling out.
