I replaced the Oven Igniter. After ensuring that it was the igniter, by turning on the stove and taking out the oven bottom. Watch if it turns red. If not, then either the wiring is faulty, or the igniter went bad. The bulb was due to a loose and broken light bulb, can't use any normal bulb, these ones are specially made to withstand the heat. Top mounted freezer with bottom refrigerator. Kenmore Elite Shut off the power Remove all food stuff from freezer (placed in ice chest) then shelves. Removed the ice maker, (easy!) 3 screws and unplugged wires. 2 screws in the back panel. Pulled top forward - downward Unplugged wiring harness from back wall of freezer, removed ground wire from panel Pulled fan blade off. Took out old element,got part number and look for the cheapest price online, Appliance Parts Pro could not be beat... order part be number, easy to match, came in fast and put in element, only needed a 5/16 nutdriver to take it out and put it in,unpluged wires and bent just a little to keep one on left and one right from getting mixed up and pluged up new element and ran in the 2 screws,easy job, dont get no easier.. I wanted to avoid pulling the drum. Luckily, my blower was easily accessed by pulling the front bottom panel. A couple of sheet metal screws were all I needed to remove the fan housing cover. I knew the fan was on reverse threads, i.e. righty-untighty. As it spins it tightens so no need for a retaining nut. I took off a screw holding on the exhaust tube and wiggled it out.
