• Too hot

Ultimately, the cycling thermostat appeared to be causing the problem. Although testing it did not reveal any issues, replacing it resolved the problem. I had tried the high limit thermostat which did not resolve the overheating issue. While I was at it, I replaced the heating element as it was showing its age (dryer is about 25 years old) but it tested OK. Wife satisfaction factor is highly increased now! Read more

I had to take out the bottom drawer that holds pans. Disconnect the power and pull the oven out. Removed door, rear panel that held the screws for the side panel and lift up and out the side panel. After that it was straight forward as to replacing the hinge. Spent more time cleaning the florr where the oven was than installing the hinge. Read more

This was some repair! My SG1000 stackable is over 30 years old and was purchased second hand. After watching numerous videos I was able to discern that the problem was with one of the following: the timer, the heater, or the thermostat. a short time check showed me that the timer was working so that narrowed it down to the other two. Not having the necessary tools to check those two I ordered both parts. Removed front of washing machine, loosened clamps, got wet, replaced hose, tightened clamps, tested hose--no leaks--job done. Number one was turn the power to the dishwasher off. I disconnected the hoses under the sink. The dishwasher had to be pulled out from the cabinet. The old heating element easily came out and the new one put in its place. The instructional video made the repair very easy. Read more

Found the wonderful parts diagrams you most generously share online and a couple of YouTube videos . I determined it should be repairable. In my cast the agitator shaft was frozen (rusted) in place. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat.
