Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker was not ejecting cubes. Would make ice but never flip completely over to spill them into the tray.   Lorenzo Z. • Rutherfordton , NC • March 12, 2014

Replaced the entire ice making unit. It was a very simple project. The original ice maker is held in place by two screws at the front and some tabs in the back. Removing the screws allowed the unit to come free from the tabs and drop down. We simply released the wiring clip, removed the broken unit and reversed the process. The repair took about ten minutes and is something I have never done before. I am guessing we saved over $100 by ordering from AppliancePartsPros.com and doing the job... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The ice auger broke off and fractured the back panel of the ice bin   Lawrence P. • Mount Laurel , NJ • September 09, 2014

The removal of the ice bin and auger motor was easy but removing the auger from the shaft was another story. The auger was frozen to the shaft even after it sat out overnight. I carefully applied heat with a propane torch, directly on joint of the auger and the tip of the shaft, followed by a few drops of cold water. Once the shaft and auger cooled the auger separated easily. Putting the components back together was simple taking about ten more minutes. Read more
