Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The washer filled and agitated but it would not empty and spin   Jeffrey W. • Daufuskie Island , SC • August 07, 2015

I took the front panel off and exposed the mechanism. Inside the shield is a capacitor, so I guessed that the capacitor was bad. I ordered a new shield which contains a new capacitor, installed it, and the washer now works normally again. At first the pump motor made a few clicks before it started running, so I believe the drain pump had an obstruction of some kind inside it, like a bolus of sand, that caused the motor to seize temporarily and burned out the capacitor. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Fan on my ge profile stove hood quit working   David S. • Bristol , TN • July 30, 2016

I removed the fan from inside the hood which was much easier to do that expected since only one screw needed to be removed. It took two of us to get this double drum fan lowered. The fan turned freely but would not start so I got into the electronics and identified the problem as the two large start capacitors. The cost to replace the fan from GE was $1,200 and their cost for capacitors was $87 dollars a piece. I contacted Appliance Part Pros and chatted with their service department who easily...
