My 15 year old son and I examined the new parts and made a plan for how we were going to take the front off of the oven. Turns out it was fairly simple. We removed the knobs, the knob shrouds, two philip screws on the side of the head and about 6, 6mm hex sheet screws. Voila! It came apart. We carefully looked at how the old parts were assembled and simply reversed the assembly with the new parts. This is a Whirlpool range control board. It manages and monitors temperatures for the range and features a digital display and user interface buttons. The control board can short out due to power surge or exposure to excessive heat. For example, if the oven's self clean function is run too long or too frequently, parts of the control board could melt or otherwise malfunction.Before installing this part, be sure to cut power to the appliance and allow it to cool completely. The stove may need to be pulled away from the wall to access the screws holding the control panel in place. Remove the screws from each side of the control panel to gain access to the old control board. I repaired the problem by replacing the Power Board assembly and the daughter relay board. Not sure which one was the problem. Since I had it apart I replaced both. So far the unit is working like new. Everything was plug in, so I didn't have to worry about complex wiring. I took pictures prior to disassembly to make sure I got the reassembly right.
