Rubber feet that attach to the bottom of cooktop grates. Replace when missing, worn, cracked, or damaged to restore stability and protect the cooktop surface.
Of course, before disassembling anything, I unplugged and turned off the gas supply. To replace the spark electrode, I removed the drip pan/surface to gain access to the burner assemblies. Next, I unscrewed (with a 1/2" open-end wrench, I think) and disconnected the gas supply tubing from the burner assembly with the cracked electrode, and then unscrewed the assembly itself from the base surface. With the assembly detached, I flipped it over and removed the screw that secured the cracked... Read more

Easy fix. Both elements replaced while I was at it, so all new. Figured if one went the other was going to follow. CIRCUIT BREAKER OFF. Removed the back metal panel with my nut driver for the hex head screws. Note where the panel may slip under tabs for support. Remove slip on electrical connections on upper and lower elements. May need a pliers. (I did not want to just pull the element and the wires into the oven with the element and remove them there, like a technician would do. After 15... Read more
Microwave won't power on or turn on? Failed thermostat causes complete power loss. This safety part protects against overheating. DIY repair in 30 minutes.
I attempted to diagnose the four thermostats/thermal switches in the microwave....two right behind the control panel, one on top of the cooking cabin, and one under a metal shroud above the magnetron. While checking continuity with a voltmeter, i questioned one of them behind the control panel and the one above the magnetron. I watched a video on this web site, which was great. Just had to familiarize myself where the parts are on my stove. It took longer than a pro, but I didn't have to pay for a service call and the parts were cheaper, too. It was just a bit more difficult than changing a light switch. Read more
The Ignitor is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ranges. Located near the burner heads, this component is responsible for generating the electric spark required to light stove top burners. Symptoms of a faulty ignitor include:
Causes of ignitor failure can be an accumulation of deposits over many heating cycles. Physical damage from pots/pans is also possible. As electrical parts, ignitors have a limited lifespan depending on range usage.
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.
Removed the bottom tin work in the oven and removed the burner tube. Tried to remove the igniter bracket but the screws were too tight for the Phillips head and couldn't get vice grips to clamp on the head, so I bent the bracket enough to remove and replace the igniter. Then reassembled. I give AppliancePros.com a 5 star rating. Site was easy to use, the part was delivered in under 2 days, and it was the correct part packaged carefully so the igniter was protected from breaking. Read more
