Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The back left burner didn't light and didn't click when turned the knob   Oceanna C. • Watsonville , CA • April 07, 2016

My husband and myself didn't agree on which part was the exact problem. He felt it was the valve. I felt it was the ignitor/ orifice. And we both agreed the Harness-Ignitor needed to be replaced. So we ordered all 3, and I'm not sure if in fact all three were needed or not, but now with those parts replaced, the range is working like brand new!! Thanks to all the videos and diagrams on the website we were able to fix it ourselves easily. And the price was cheaper then other websites, also it... Read more

  • The light remaining on even when the door is closed
  • An inconsistent or flickering oven light

This cooktop has a dual element with an inner burner surrounded by an outer burner. The switch controls either the inner burner alone or both. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The front two electronic igniters on the stove top range stopped working   Raymond L. • The Woodlands , TX • December 26, 2015

I called a rpair service. The men came to the house, torn apart the stove top and advised Replacement of the wire harness. The trip charge of $100 would be deducted from a repair bill of $350, thus they needed an additional $150 for parts and $100 for labor after paying the trip charge. I bought the harness for $60, and the star bits I needed for my drill for $10. My son and I installed the new harness in about 30 minutes, which included a thorough cleanup, saving us $180. Switch
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304493153

The Door Switch is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire wall ovens. It is a component located on the oven door that detects when the door is opened and closed. The door switch works alongside the control board to regulate oven operations based on door position.

Symptoms of a bad door switch can include:

  • Oven failing to automatically go into bake or warm modes after door closure
  • Interior lights not turning on when the door is opened
  • Control buttons/display remaining constantly lit instead of dimming
  • Oven not heating or functioning properly in different modes

Causes relate to normal wear over extended use as the door switch mechanism cycles with frequent door openings and closings. Moisture exposure or impacts could also degrade switch performance.

This OEM Frigidaire switch is compatible with Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, and some Electrolux wall oven models as well.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frigidaire microwave oven lights and timer work but oven doesn't heat   Reese F. • Essex Junction , VT • August 16, 2015

I diagnosed this problem via the web and the advice was spot on. The problem was a failure of the bottom door switch. I used a multimeter to verify that the switched never closed properly. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the old switch (press a release tab under the switch while simultaneously rotating counter-clockwise). That was about the most difficult part of the repair. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Faulty self cleaning latch   Gregory K. • Bel Air , MD • December 28, 2016

Replaced faulty latch with new latch. New latch was different configuration, but the fit was okay. The only issue was that the wires to the electric motor were just barely long enough. Overall easy repair if you have a T15 Torx bit, phillips screwdriver, and 1/4" nut driver. Hardest part is removing the gas cooktop to gain access to the cleaning latch. 0. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven light stayed on when door was closed   Robert S. • Jacksonville , IL • June 14, 2015

When trouble shooting the problem I found that the light switch housing outer lip was broken allowing the switch to push through mounting surface behind the oven door. This is a slide in range so, I proceeded to pull the range away from the counter where I could unplug the power cord. Once the power was off like located the panel on the right upper side of the unit and removed the screws to allow access to the switch. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Clicking from ignitor mode would not stop after burner lit   Jeffrey Maclachlan V. • Nederland , CO • September 03, 2017
