Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Upper tray of maytag dishwasher not washing properly   Roger K. • Waco , TX • April 23, 2017

I discovered that the manifold was not connecting with the water supply,so the dishes in the upper tray were not being washed. This was caused because the rear hanger on the manifold had broken and it did not lineup properly into the water supply connection in the back of the dishwasher. I removed the manifold and found that it had two part numbers stamped on it. I searched on both part numbers and received a hit on the second part number. The photo looked exactly like my manifold so I... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishes would't clean on the top rack and bottom dishes were wet   Rajasekhar R. • Warrenton , VA • August 02, 2015

I replaced the rear tube that feeds water to the top and middle spinners, and this appears to have fixed the problem. The middle spinner, which is attached to the bottom of the top rack, has a tube that connects to a hole in the middle of the rear tube. This hole has a rubber flap and I noticed that this flap was wide open. The tube under the tray has a straight edge protruding from it at the back. This edge pushes the flap open and I suspect that when the water is flowing, this edge rotates... Read more

Dishwasher Drain Check Valve
Genuine Samsung part
By: Samsung

Water pooling in your dishwasher after cycles? A faulty drain check valve allows backflow. This part prevents water backup and ensures proper drainage.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Would not drain with flashing quick light   Kevin N. • Lake Worth , FL • June 21, 2018

Since my Samsung Dishwasher would not drain and had a flashing quick light, I removed the racks and both spray wands. Which allowed me to remove the lower screen assembly. This revealed a worn and broken check valve and broken grinder blade. I cleaned the inside of the dishwasher and removed the unit from under the counter. I removed and cleaned the brake assembly ( large transparent plastic section on left side of the dishwasher). I cleaned this for preventive maintenance by taking the float... Read more

Solenoid Assembly
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WD21X10060

Note: This is the complete solenoid assembly kit. For armature & linkage assembly only, use WD1X1316.

The Solenoid Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It plays a crucial role in controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher by activating or deactivating the drain valve. This assembly is essential for ensuring that the dishwasher fills and drains at the correct times during the wash cycle, which is pivotal for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the appliance.

Common causes for a Solenoid Assembly to fail include wear and tear over time, mineral buildup from hard water, or electrical failures that prevent the solenoid from operating as intended.

Symptoms of a bad Solenoid Assembly include:

  • Failure of the dishwasher to drain properly, leading to water accumulation at the bottom.
  • The dishwasher not filling with water as it should, affecting the cleaning process.
  • Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher, which may indicate the solenoid is failing to engage or disengage correctly.

This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Will not fill with water
  • Will not drain

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Cracked start button on control panel door balance kit   Michael G. • Treasure Island , FL • September 22, 2014

Removed torx screws attaching stainless liner to outer stainless door. Lift off inner door and carefully separate the electronic components from where they snap into the control panel. Relocate electronic components to the new control panel. Reattach the inner liner with the torx screws. It is helpful to have an extra set of hands to hold the control panel while making the electronics swap to avoid pulling on the wiring harness. Dishwasher Drain Pump

By: Ge

Dishwasher won't drain or makes loud humming noise? This drain pump removes water from the wash cycle. Moderate DIY repair with unit removal required.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My ge profile dishwasher was making a loud (very loud) humming noise during operation   Michael B. • Wesley Chapel , FL • May 12, 2014

I stood by the dishwasher as it went through the cycles and noted the noise only happened during the drain processes. To make this repair you have to take the dishwasher completely out from under the counter. (NOTE: print the schematic to help guide you to the location of the part and connections.) The pump is not accessible from underneath. I laid the dishwasher on its side. I recommend disconnecting the copper fill tubing before laying the machine over (I did not and crimped it). The...
