In short - I replaced the evaporator fan motor and the evaporator fan blade. The Appliance Parts Pros website was extremely helpful to me. Here's how. 1. Main problem was worn bearings in the motor, which was replaced. Additional issues were worn pulley on tensioner and impeller slipping on motor shaft. Pulley was replaced and hose clamp was used to secure blower on shaft. Read more

Took cover completely off and tried putting back, could not match up left screw with available screw hole. Tried many different configurations and sequences to make this happen. watched a video on changing the front panel, the door in it had four screws, mine 2, no help there. Searched on the hyperextending issue, found an article about dogs and kids [had both here] climbing on the door and to check the springs and linkages. Noticed Rolls on the top shelf no longer frozen, though the meat around it still was. Note: This is a good test, keep something that thaws quickly and is not expensive on top shelf, to act as a barometer for your freezer health! I first found a trip online to advance the defrost timer, as a failed timer is a common issue. I advanced the timer, but nothing happened. I had the original sensors in my Frigidaire, which were now about 18 years old. The water dispenser would work, but I would have to push in the lever and then draw it back until it found that "sweet spot." I finally got annoyed enough with the problem that I looked online. I almost purchased the dispenser actuator (the paddle), and glad I didn't because it was not the problem. • Door sweating

My co-worker bought a house to flip and gave me the refrigerator. I'd been looking for a garage refrigerator to store water, cola, etc in. Fridge was essentially fine but I sanded and painted one side which had rust spots. Turned out like new. The door seal was moldy and didn't seal properly. The only advice I can lend is to take the door off the hinges and lay it down flat. So much easier. With this seal you basically just take out all the screws, peel off old seal and set the new one... Repair took 20 minutes - 1 minute to set the new, non-broken shelf in place, and then 19 minutes teasing my spouse about the fragility of glass and multiple repetitions of the phrase "This is why we can't have nice things!" Probably worthwhile to program in 10 additional minutes to allow you to apologize to your spouse for ridiculing them for an honest mistake:) Read more

So I ordered the face plate and other parts that went with it and fixed it myself. The repair man wanted around $600 to do it. I believe kt cost around $160 to fix it myself. Read more
