Secures door handle to refrigerator door. Replace if missing, stripped, rusted, or corroded from regular use. Essential hardware for handle installation.
I ordered a replacement handle and screws. The process was very easy with the help of one of your "pros" who found all the parts needed and took my order. I didn't realize I was getting both a refrigerator door handle and a freezer door handle in one set, but now we have the freezer handle if we need it. Removing the old handle and installing the replacement was very easy. It looks great, in fact the replacement is metal, whereas the original was plastic, so it looks better than it ever did! Took cover completely off and tried putting back, could not match up left screw with available screw hole. Tried many different configurations and sequences to make this happen. watched a video on changing the front panel, the door in it had four screws, mine 2, no help there. Searched on the hyperextending issue, found an article about dogs and kids [had both here] climbing on the door and to check the springs and linkages. Linkages intact both sides, R [opposite] side spring very stretched.... Read more
This is an evaporator fan motor that circulates cold air throughout the freezer compartment to maintain even temperatures. It is mounted near the evaporator coils and runs whenever the compressor is operating. Replace this motor if the freezer is warmer than normal, you hear unusual buzzing or grinding noises, or the fan has stopped spinning entirely.
In short - I replaced the evaporator fan motor and the evaporator fan blade. The Appliance Parts Pros website was extremely helpful to me. Here's how. 1. The site helped me identify that even though my Freezer says it's a Frigidaire, it's actually an Electrolux. 2. The site identified the potential screech causing parts. (I didn't take a chance, I bought all three) It was a worthwhile investment. My freezer is 20 years old so it deserved some help. 3. The site provided guidance videos (not... Read more
Fix a dispenser that won't stop running water or ice, or won't dispense at all. This switch controls water and ice flow. Moderate DIY repair.
I had the original sensors in my Frigidaire, which were now about 18 years old. The water dispenser would work, but I would have to push in the lever and then draw it back until it found that "sweet spot." I finally got annoyed enough with the problem that I looked online. I almost purchased the dispenser actuator (the paddle), and glad I didn't because it was not the problem. Unless your lights are out, or it broke, the culprit will be these little dispenser switches which get pressed... Read more

This was a fairly easy fix. The only problem I had was that the cover over the retaining nut was difficult to pull off. I changed to a larger pair of pliers and put a little more muscle to it and it popped right out. There was a little corrosion on the shaft that needed to scraped off for the new agitator to slide on easily but after that was gone the new part slid on and with some downward pressure it seated in. After spending some time the previous weekend unloading the freezer and climbing in to see where the problem was I determined that the motor on the ice maker was faulty. It was not until the Friday after the weekend did I get a chance to place the order to have the assembly delivered. This was after a call to a local appliance parts store and getting a price quote for a price $30 higher. For the price I ordered it and was going to take my chances on the speed of delivery. To my surprise... Read more
