This was a fairly easy fix. The only problem I had was that the cover over the retaining nut was difficult to pull off. I changed to a larger pair of pliers and put a little more muscle to it and it popped right out. There was a little corrosion on the shaft that needed to scraped off for the new agitator to slide on easily but after that was gone the new part slid on and with some downward pressure it seated in. Took cover completely off and tried putting back, could not match up left screw with available screw hole. Tried many different configurations and sequences to make this happen. watched a video on changing the front panel, the door in it had four screws, mine 2, no help there. Searched on the hyperextending issue, found an article about dogs and kids [had both here] climbing on the door and to check the springs and linkages. My frig is a year and a half old, Frigidaire with french doors and freezer drawer. It has an upper ice maker for the door in the frig and a bottom ice maker in the freezer drawer. I ordered a replacement handle and screws. The process was very easy with the help of one of your "pros" who found all the parts needed and took my order. I didn't realize I was getting both a refrigerator door handle and a freezer door handle in one set, but now we have the freezer handle if we need it. Removing the old handle and installing the replacement was very easy. It looks great, in fact the replacement is metal, whereas the original was plastic, so it looks better than it ever did! Check fan operation and was OK. Everything else worked except when microwave was started for a cycle. I looked around on internet and found someone had trouble with the door switches. I started to check door switches and found one shorted. I replaced both lower door switches and it took care of problem. Read more

Main problem was worn bearings in the motor, which was replaced. Additional issues were worn pulley on tensioner and impeller slipping on motor shaft. Pulley was replaced and hose clamp was used to secure blower on shaft. Read more
